Letter from the Editor Dear Salysians, Happy New Year!!

I said that about eight months ago, and then I had to hit pause.

I did not really think it was going to be as long of a PAUSE as it turned out to be; but sometimes the PAUSE turns into a STOP. There was a lot going on that forced me to stop and re-evaluate a lot of things. One of the questions I had to ask myself was if I still had the interest, time, and passion to keep this labor of love continuing? Once I was able to answer in the affirmative, then I knew it was time to hit PLAY again!

I know right about now we all want to FAST FORWARD to the end of 2020 because it has been a hell of a year! I am so encouraged and inspired by all of my loyal Salysians who still believe in the magazine and support it!

And to those who have lost loved ones to COVID-19, please know that I understand the pain you might be feeling right now. Have you seen the commercials of Olympian Michael Phelps where he encourages everyone to seek help and says, “It’s OK to not be OK right now.”

I reiterate, “It’s OK to NOT be OK right now!”

We will get through this!

I do hope the pages of SALYSÉ bring just a little bit of joy to your day.

As always, I hope you enjoy your escape!
