Letter from the Editor Dear Salysians, Imagine this...

You are working at your desk making good progress on your very long To Do List. You get up to pour yourself a caffeinated beverage to squeeze out a few more hours in your day, and next thing you know, you are flat on your back in the worst pain you have ever felt in your life (and you know pain because you have had two major surgeries.)

An emergency room and too many to count doctors’ visits later you wonder if life will ever return to normal? The answer is: after a couple rounds of physical therapy; hopefully, yes.

Unfortunately, sometimes the unexpected happens.

Or, in the vernacular: SHIT HAPPENS! I sincerely apologize for the delays in publishing the last of the May and June issues.

I am honored that you entrust SALYSÉ with publishing your editorials, and I take that privilege very seriously, but right now SALYSÉ is just me, myself, and I, and “I” am in a lot of pain!

Thank you for your patience and kindness as I work to slowly, but surely, catch up.

A Delicate Affair A Delicate Affair is a fashion story captured by Miami-based photographer and industry educator, Kendra Paige, featuring up and coming model, Livy Poulin, wearing predominantly fashions By Efraín Mogollon.

By Efraín Mogollon is a Venezuelan brand that launched in 2010 with a focus on an entirely female aesthetic in the ever-changing and globalized world. Efraín Mogollon himself is an industrial and fashion designer that specializes in patterns and confection. These unique fashions contain shapes and curves that provide a refined look for the contemporary woman.

Captured within a controlled studio environment, A Delicate Affair focuses on the soft, graceful features of the magnificent wardrobe styling by Mariela Ortega. Working with a color palette of gentle pinks, makeup artist, Bri Soffa, gave each look a fresh and innocent glow, which played perfectly with the flowing waves of hair created by hair stylist, Dania Gazzalla. Livy Poulin of Elite Miami is positively radiant within each frame, exuding elegance with movement and poise.

Kendra Paige captured these images against a custom hand-painted canvas backdrop by Michelle Monique of Schöning Backdrops. The soft lighting used for this editorial was made possible by Broncolor monolights and a Broncolor 150 Octa.

As spring leaves the chill of winter behind, A Delicate Affair rejoices in the whimsical nature of the new season.
