What are some things that make you happy? For me, I feel happiest in the summertime when the weather is warm, the sun is bright and flowers grow in my garden. I love animals, especially horses, and eating watermelon in my backyard. I think it’s so cool that God created all my favourite things.
God loves us so much that He made all the beautiful, delicious, fun and exciting things in the world to bring us joy. And, as Christians, we can share this joy with others by telling them about God and His amazing creations.

What does this mean?
When you look up at the sky, what do you see?
Sometimes it is blue, other times it is pink. At night, there are stars. It almost looks like a beautiful painting, and it changes every day. No matter where you are in the world, you can look at the sky and see what God has made.
What brings you joy? Take a moment to look around you. What are five things you see that make you happy?
God’s love is all around us. We can find it even in the small things that make us feel joy. Try this exercise two more times this week. No matter where you are, I know you can find five things that make you happy.
Who are your role models?
Role models are people we look up to and who inspire us to be good, confident, kind and caring. My role model is Jesus. Jesus loves everybody, no matter who they are or where they come from. As Christians, we want to be like Jesus and to treat others as He does—with respect and love.
In this week’s issue of Just for Kids, you’ll read a story about God’s generosity. I don’t know about you, but I want to be generous just like Him!

Jesus arrived at a town called Sychar and was so tired from His trip that He sat down beside a well for a little rest. When a Samaritan woman came to get some water from the well, Jesus said to her: “Would you give Me a drink?”

Jesus answered: “You know what? If you only knew how generous God is, and who I am, you would be asking Me for a drink, and I would give you fresh, living water.”

What Did Jesus Mean by Water”?“Living Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit (see John 7:37-39). If we believe in Jesus, we can ask Him to fill us with the Holy Spirit. That “living water” gives us eternal life—just as regular water gives us physical life.

Has anyone ever told you, “You can’t do that, you’re too young”? When it comes to following Jesus, no one is ever too young to do what’s right and make a difference.
In a letter to his disciple, Timothy, the Apostle Paul writes, “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live. Also set an example in how you love and in what you believe” (1 Timothy 4:12).

David’s brothers were in the army. One day, David’s father sent him to visit them. They were getting ready to fight the Philistines. While David was there, a giant Philistine named Goliath came out.
“Choose a man to fight me,” Goliath said. “If he wins the fight, we will become your slaves. But if I win, you will become our slaves.” No one was brave enough to accept Goliath’s challenge.
But David knew God was stronger than Goliath. He offered to fight him. The king told David not to do it: “You’re too young and small to fight Goliath.”
Find these words from the story of David and
“God has helped me in the past,” David replied, “and I know God will help me now.”
Goliath laughed when he saw David. He even made fun of God. David pulled out his slingshot and hit Goliath with a stone. Goliath went down. God helped David save his people from the Philistine army.
Did you know that blue whales are the largest animals to have ever lived? They are even larger than dinosaurs! They can grow to weigh over 130,000 kilograms, which is about the size of 30 Tyrannosaurus rex put together. But blue whales are considered “gentle giants” —they have hearts the size of cars!

Have you ever been to a wedding? I have been to a few, and they are so fun. There is usually lots of music, dancing, food and yummy desserts, and it is nice to see people who love each other get married. God wants us to love one another, so weddings are very special and important.
In the Bible, Jesus once attended a wedding where something incredible happened— He performed a miracle!
Jesus performed many miracles. He did things that humans cannot do, such as walking on water, helping blind people see again, and healing people who were sick or hurt. He did all this through the power of the Holy Spirit. God used Jesus to perform these miracles on earth, so that we would see the amazing things He can do.

John 2:1-11
There was once a big wedding party at Cana in Galilee, and Jesus, His mother, Mary, and His disciples had been invited to attend the celebration.
In the middle of the wedding, Mary realized they had run out of wine for guests to drink. She asked Jesus to help because she knew He could do something wonderful. He saw six large jugs nearby and asked servants to fill them with water. When they were filled, Jesus performed a miracle by turning the plain water into wine.
Though Jesus performed many miracles in His lifetime, this was the first one. The people at the wedding were surprised and happy. This miracle showed them how special Jesus was, and the amazing things He could do.
Love is important to God and is talked about a lot in the Bible. In the New International Version of the Bible, the word “love” is mentioned more than 500 times!
What does the Bible say about love?
I give you a new command. Love one another. You must love one another, just as I have loved you. If you love one another, everyone will know you are My disciples. —John 13:34-35

Hi kids! Summer comes when the sun is closest to the earth. This is why all the snow melts and it gets very hot! With the sun shining so bright in the summer, we often have to protect ourselves from it. If we go to the beach, we wear sunblock, sunglasses and hats so we don’t get a sunburn. If you go to the beach in Bermuda, which is an island in the Atlantic Ocean, you will swim in saltwater. While it is very fun to swim in the ocean, you cannot drink ocean water because of how salty it is. In the Bible, Jesus uses the examples of light and salt to help us understand how we should act as His followers. Read the Bible story to find out more.

One day, Jesus saw a big crowd of people, so He went up on top of a mountain to teach them. His disciples came over, too, and sat around Him. In His lesson, He used two examples to help the people understand how they are to live as a follower of Jesus. First, He talked about “salt.” Next, He spoke about “light.” He told the people that salt is only good when it tastes salty or else it is not useful. He then went on to talk about light, telling the people that they are to be “the light of the world.” He said that no one lights a lamp only to hide it under a bowl, but rather puts it on a stand to have it shine for everyone in the house. He used these two examples to teach us that when people see us do good things it will bring glory to God.
