BARKING: Elim Full Gospel Chinese Church presented a cheque for £770, which will go towards the corps Oasis Project. The project offers hot food, shower facilities and a monthly doctor’s surgery to people experiencing homelessness. This ministry builds up relationships between the corps and those who have lost their way in life or experienced difficult times. ENFIELD: Andrea and John Porter (Oakengates) led Harvest thanksgiving worship, challenging the all-age congregation not to give to God that which costs them nothing. Andrea spoke of the connections between Harvest and Pentecost, and the young people were tasked with listing words that can be found within the word ‘Harvest’. The senior and junior musical sections and John’s piano playing enhanced morning worship. Donated perishables were later distributed to those in need within the community. – M. G.
