he eyes of football fans all over the world will turn to Wembley Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Arsenal and Chelsea go head to head in the 139th FA Cup Final. This year’s match is a repeat of the 2002 and 2017 finals, which were both won by the Gunners. Arsenal and Chelsea have a history that goes back more than 110 years. In 200 fixtures between these teams, Arsenal have won 76 games, Chelsea have won 65 and the two sides have drawn 59 times. Arsenal really are the FA Cup kings. They’ve lifted the famous trophy a record 13 times and they’ll set a new record this year as they take to the pitch for their 21st FA Cup Final appearance. However, when it comes to this season’s league standings Chelsea are the team in the lead. And Chelsea have a pretty good FA Cup record themselves – they’re making their 14th Cup Final appearance, having won the Cup eight times. As every football fan knows, history, form and statistics tend to mean very little when it comes to the FA Cup. With no fans inside the stadium, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this will be an FA Cup Final like no other. It really will be down to the players to step up and make this final the spectacle that it needs to be. I’m a big fan of my hometown club Plymouth Argyle. Being an Argyle fan is frustrating to say the least. Every new season is full of potential and I’m filled with hope. I buy a shirt and travel miles to watch matches. When I’m at a game I clap my hands till they hurt and I shout till my voice is hoarse. Too often the players let me down by losing matches I think they should have won. My hope fades a little, but I go to another game and cheer them on again. Why? Because I love Plymouth Argyle! When God made us he filled us with potential and had great hopes for us. It would be understandable if God got frustrated with us when we let him down. Thankfully, God’s hope for us never fades and he cheers us on right till the end. Why? Because he loves us!

ny of you who have taken tests will know there’s an awful lot of hard work that goes into preparing for them. There are lessons to take part in at school and all that homework you have to do to reinforce your learning. Then there’s the revision with all those highlighted, colour-coded notes! It all builds up to the day of the test when you strain your brain to remember as much as you can about everything you’ve learnt. In this week’s cartoon Bible story on the right, we get to read about Jesus when he was about the same age as some of you probably are now. Isn’t it amazing to see that he was a child, just like you? He even caused his parents some stress and worry, just like many of you probably do!
Even when Jesus was a boy, God had started to help him prepare for the important things he had to do in the future. Just like preparation for tests starts weeks – or even years – before you take them, Jesus needed to learn and remember so much over many years. That’s why he was in the Temple – to learn about things that would help him in the future. Just as the young Jesus had lots to learn from Scripture and the people around him, there’s loads for you to learn about living life God’s way. Reading your Bible, talking to God through prayer and chatting to your Sunday school leaders, family and friends will help you to grow as a Christian. God won’t make you sit any tests to test what you remember, but he will help you to prepare for the life ahead of you!

Did you know that the most important commandments in the Bible are to love God and to love your neighbour? Jesus was great at doing this, so let’s follow his example by loving God and our neighbours too.
The Good Samaritan
A man travelling along a road was robbed, beaten and left for dead. Three men saw him – a priest, Levite and Samaritan. The first two ignored him and crossed the road, but the Samaritan stopped. He bandaged the injured man and paid an innkeeper to look after him until he got better.
Living Like Jesus
The religious leaders believed they were better than Samaritans because their Jewish heritage was purer. However Jesus showed that the Samaritan was actually a better person, as his actions showed love and compassion towards the wounded man.
What Can I Do? ‘Loving your neighbour’ means to do the best you can for anyone – no matter what their skin colour, religion or social background is. Is there somebody that you could show a random act of kindness to?
