In Space Dogs: Return to Earth, Lenny the rat has to give up his most treasured possession to rescue the world. What’s your most treasured possession? What would you do? My favourite toy as a kid was my cuddly bear called Teddy Edward. I loved him so much that I squeezed most of the stuffing out of him, he only had one eye and just one ear. In spite of his shabby looks, I wouldn’t have parted with him for anything or anyone – well, I might have if I knew giving him up would save the world. More than 2,000 years ago, God gave up his most ‘treasured possession’ to rescue the world. He sent his only son to live on Earth and show us the best way to live, which was all a part of his plan to save everyone on the planet. Now that really is something to celebrate this Christmas!

Read the comment below about how Jesus came to show us the way to God
Amazing News!
H
says Melita Day-Lewis
ow do we hear important news about global events, such as the coronavirus pandemic, floods or the election of a prime minister? It’s usually announced on TV or in newspapers. You might get personal news – such as the arrival of a friend’s new puppy or a visit from your grandparents – by text, email or a phone call. Hearing news this way seems very ordinary and everyday to us. We don’t always pay special attention to it or jump up and down and shout at the top of our voices: ‘WOW! Did you hear that?’ How would you choose to tell people awesome news from Heaven – the exciting news that Jesus was coming to Earth to save the world, and that he
would be born as a baby? You wouldn’t do it in any old, ordinary way, would you? God chose angels to get Mary and Joseph’s attention! I think it worked, don’t you? Maybe he also sent such special heavenly messengers to help Mary and Joseph believe that what they heard would happen, even though it was mind-boggling. Advent is a great time to think about what it must have been like to hear the awesome announcement about the birth of Jesus for the first time. It’s also the perfect opportunity to remember what the Christmas story is all about. God sent Jesus as a bright light in the darkness to show people the way back to God. Now, that’s amazing news!
Message in a Muddle Rearrange the letters of the words below and put them in the right place to find a description of the Son of God in the Bible. To help you, you can also find each word in the comment above – just count the right number of words in the paragraph mentioned.

Advent Prayers

The Shepherds
Advent is a time to prepare for Christmas. More than 2,000 years ago, God was busy preparing the world for the arrival of his son Jesus. So God asked some special people to help him – people who trusted him and were willing to do what he asked. This Advent, between putting up your decorations and writing Christmas cards, ask God to help you to be like the Christmas heroes in the Bible – willing and eager to meet Jesus.
A group of shepherds were out in the fields watching over their sheep when suddenly an angel appeared in the sky. The shepherds were afraid but the angel told them not to worry, because there was good news – the Messiah had been born! As the sky filled with a choir of angels singing praises to God, the shepherds’ fears turned to joy and they ran to Bethlehem to discover the good news for themselves. Everyone had been waiting for this news for hundreds of years and the shepherds responded the way God hoped. They humbly believed the message and joyfully shared the news with everyone they met. Dear God, Thank you for giving me the opportunity to know Jesus too. Help me to eagerly look forward to spending time with you when I pray and read the Bible and may I cheerfully share the good news of Jesus with others. Amen.
KA! JAM is the cooles t Bible activity club around. As a mem ber you’ll go on amazing adventures through the Bible learning about Jesus. Each activity sheet is filled with lo ts of great stuff about being a Christia n. You’ll also receive our mini-mag , Chatterbox, which is filled with jo kes, games and much more. The world’s biggest snowman was taller than an 11-storey building. Riesi – which means giant – was a whopping 38 metres tall. He was built this year by Gerhard Peer and Erwin Petz in Donnersbachwald in Austria. They used snow cannons to build up layers and layers of compacted snow over 40 days. Riesi smashed the previous world record, which was held by a snow woman built in 2008 in Maine, USA.
