We’ve waited a veeeeeeery long time to tell you about Peter Rabbit 2 ! More than a year ago, we were all set to put Peter and his pals on the front cover and page 3, then … lockdown! Well, the film’s here now and it’s been worth the wait. This weekend, Christians all over the world will celebrate Pentecost – often called the Church’s birthday. More than 2,000 years ago, Jesus’ followers were in their own sort of lockdown while they waited for a very special gift from God. All of a sudden, on the day of Pentecost, WHOOSH! The Holy Spirit arrived! Was it worth the wait for Jesus’ followers? It certainly was! The cool thing is, we can experience the Holy Spirit’s power ourselves. speak English and Afrikaans (a South African language). I can also speak some French – with the help of a phrase book! But one day, in the Netherlands, I asked a stranger who was crying if she was OK and she shared all her troubles with me in Dutch. I couldn’t understand one word she said! She was even more upset* after that and I wished I could speak her language, there and then! So, I think what happened in the Bible cartoon is awesome! Jews from all over the world – speaking different languages – were in Jerusalem for a special festival. Suddenly there was the sound of a roaring wind, followed by loud shouts of praise by Jesus’ followers. Even though the disciples could only speak

Aramaic, everyone there could understand exactly what they were saying in their own languages! God had filled the disciples with his Spirit and given them the ability to speak these languages. This is what Jesus had promised – ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you and give you power. Then you will tell everyone about me’ (Acts 1:8, Contemporary English Version). That’s exactly what happened, and thousands of people believed in Jesus that day! Why don’t you ask Jesus to fill you with his Holy Spirit this Pentecost? You might not get an instant new language, but the Holy Spirit will guide you and help you to tell others about Jesus, understand his love and live the way he wants you to!

Prayers are special because they’re an opportunity to share everything that’s on our minds with Jesus. Prayers have the power to change how we feel by filling us with hope and courage. In the Bible there are loads of examples of prayer changing people’s situations. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Paul encourages believers to always pray. Using stories from the Bible when Jesus prayed, we want to encourage you to pray too.

Use the space to write a prayer. You can thank God for your day and pray that people will be open to understanding the amazing way that God loves them.

The religious leaders were jealous of the apostles’ growing popularity so they threw them in jail. During the night an angel released them and told them to continue sharing the good news. When the leaders found out, they asked, ‘Didn’t we tell you to stop teaching about Jesus?’ Peter replied, ‘We listen to God not humans!’ The leaders were furious and had the apostles beaten. However, the apostles were happy and proud that they were able to suffer with Jesus and continued sharing the good news!

Films released in cinemas can be classified as 12A, but home entertainment releases are rated as 12. A 12A film usually contains scenes that are not suitable for children under the age of 12. Nobody under 12 can see a film with this rating in the cinema unless they are accompanied by an adult.

Stick to the Certs These certificates also apply to Blu-rays and DVDs. Lots of streaming services, such as Netflix and Amazon use BBFC age ratings too, but not all content online has certificates.

It can be really annoying if there’s a film you want to see but you’re too young. However, there are really good reasons why age ratings exist. First, it’s against the law for cinema releases, Blu-rays and DVDs not to be given age ratings.

Lots of effort is put into giving films classifications, so that the experts can be sure they’re giving the right advice. Without ratings children could see films that contain violence or gory scenes that might be really upsetting. Remember, the ratings are there for a reason, so stick to films that are appropriate for your age group to make sure you watch the films that are best suited to you!

Run, Kids, Run! Here are some pictures of kids from Sutton Salvation Army having fun during their church’s marathon relay. More than 80 children and adults took part in the event, choosing to run or walk distances of 5km, 2km or 1km. Those who joined in completed a combined distance of 375km and raised more than £3,000 to support the community work of the Army in Sutton. Well done, everyone!
