The eighth issue of the Heritage Series, produced by the Heritage and Archives Centre of The Salvation Army of New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
The Salvation Army has a visually rich heritage. Much of it is militaristic in nature with significant evangelical and social overtones. A significant Māori history is also a vital part of The Salvation Army in New Zealand along with the Pacific nations of Fiji, Tonga and Samoa.
While a glossary may be regarded as an alphabetical list of words relating to a specific subject or organisation, with explanations, in the case of The Salvation Army so much of such a glossary can be associated with visual examples of the terms, symbols and designations of the organisation.
