Carlos Sanchez, Bio
Carlos Sanchez was born in Caracas - Venezuela, where he grew up and spent great part of his life. Obtaining a degree in Computer Science, he worked for financial institutions, Venezuela’s government oil companies and for Information Technology corporations. His different positions took him to handle responsibilities in the area of international trade, what impulse him to reside in Florida - USA since 1992; working for both, an I.T. and a service company he owned. The obtained experiences living with the Latin Community of South Florida, along with his enterprise vision, ample knowledge of the Hispanic culture and a high human sensitivity, developed an interest of collaboration and communication of a subject, until then not very common for this minority, the health care education in their own language. It is when in 2004 SALUD al dia magazine was born. A Spanish magazine exclusively about health, that have been publishing positive messages to its readers since it was created. In the performance of his responsibilities, he became a member of the “Public & Community Relations Committee” of South Florida Hospital & Healthcare Association and he has maintained a very close and excellent relations with Hospitals, Universities, Doctors, Foundations, Healthcare Professionals, USA Government Healthcare Institutions, Pharmacological Laboratories, Health Insurance and Medical Discount Programs providers, becoming a channel of diffusion of these organizations for the Hispanic community in general. Throughout his responsibilities as a Director and CEO of SALUD al dia magazine, he has received recognitions from the Board of County Commissioners of Broward County and the community, for his educational labor. In October 2008 he was distinguished with “The Hispanic HIV Leadership Award” given by Hispanic Committee “Latinos en Accion” and Broward County Health Department, SALUD al dia magazine was named the Official Spanish-Language Magazine 20092010 for Go Red for Women from the American Heart Association..
