PETER WATTS
Peter Watts is a distinguished Australian landscape artist best known for his atmospheric depictions of Southern Australia’s skies and rural terrain. A four-time finalist in the Glover Prize, his work has earned both critical and public recognition for its subtle complexity and emotional depth. Born in Horsham in 1963, Watts masterfully captures shifting light, expansive horizons, and fleeting weather patterns through richly layered compositions.
Drawing inspiration from the elevated landscapes and cloudscapes of his native region, his paintings balance careful observation with refined abstraction. His contemplative works explore atmosphere, time, and transformation, and are held in private and public collections across Australia and Singapore.
