ABOUT CRAIG PARNABY
“The beach is where I am most at home. Where I am restored and inspired.” (Craig Parnaby)
Through a unique visual iconography, Craig pays homage to a positive, youthful, and humanist celebration of life’s simple pleasures. His imagery depicts the architectural forms and easy-going lifestyle of the urban coastal landscape. Like castles in the sand, his figurative works create a three-dimensional illusion of bodies merging with and emerging from the landscape. The tonal variations of umber beach figures, in contrast to the turquoise sea and raspberry reds create warmth that glows on the canvas.
Craig Parnaby is currently represented by Salt Contemporary Art; having held numerous solo exhibitions over the span of 18 years. Craig has also exhibited works at Gallery One, Gold Coast, Hill on Hargrave Gallery, Paddington and Bark Modern Art, Hong Kong. His paintings are held in both public and private collections, notably Gold Coast University Hospital and Collaroy Hotel Sydney.
