Thinking about raising your prices?

Discover how to effectively increase your salon prices without losing clients.

For many businesses, the cost of living continues to rise, and essentials such as rent, materials, and utilities are also increasing significantly. Hair and beauty businesses are no exception, and as a salon owner or freelancer, you need to be prepared to increase your prices.

We recommend giving your clients at least one month’s notice, so they know what the cost of their treatment or service will be next time.

Be prepared to emphasise your quality & expertise, showcase service enhancements and upgraded products, and address rising operational costs.

The reward could be a discount after visiting 5 times, or a free gift when they book a particular service. Not only does this show that you value your client’s custom, but also their loyalty to your salon business. It may also lessen the impact of a price increase if clients feel they are getting a discount or more for their money.

Striking the right balance between the growth of your salon and keeping your clients can feel tricky. However, most clients should understand your point and for those who don’t, they’re not the clients for you.

STEP 1: DESIGN BRIEF “I wanted to create a space which felt light, airy and had a calm atmosphere. I achieve this by using lots of plants against white walls and added some natural wood” - Charlotte Ground floor: 5\6 styling stations, 2 washpoints with dispensary colour store, reception desk, waiting area, coffee station and toilet.

First Floor: 2 treatment rooms, office, staff kitchen area, laundry room and toilet.

STEP 2: PLANNING & DESIGN Guided by Charlotte’s vision, our team provided furniture selections, fabric swatches, and 2D CAD drawings with a full layout plan to create a space that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional. We paid close attention to practical details, such as electrical connections, sockets, water supply and drainage, ensuring every aspect of the design worked for the team and a calming space for the clients.

Our design also included a large bespoke dispensary unit and colour store designed to sit behind the backwashes.
