INTENT FOR INTERNSHIP

I chose this firm for my internship because it aligns perfectly with my interests in residential projects and interiors. Being in the atmosphere of architecture I’ve been captivated by the art of transforming living spaces into beautiful, functional homes. The profile and work of this firm make it the ideal place for me to learn, grow, and contribute my passion and skills to the field. I was also drawn to the eloquent language of the designs produced by this firm.

Additionally, my conversation with the principal architect solidified my decision to join this firm. Her politeness and support felt overwhelming and friendly. It was evident that this is a place where creativity and innovation thrive, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of a team that not only speaks the language of design and professionalism but also treats me as a friend. This interaction made my decision to intern at this firm even more resolute and promising.

EXPECTATIONS AND LEARNINGS

My expectations from the firm revolve around getting an opportunity to be a part of the entire design process. I’m eager to learn about the design, from the conceptual stage to the final execution. I look forward to working closely with the design team, understanding their creative process, and actively contributing to the development of designs. Moreover, I hope to engage in conversations with clients, learning how to effectively translate their aspirations into tangible design solutions.

I’m also excited to delve into the intricacies of creating detailed drawings and understanding the processes required for obtaining permissions from various departments. I’m also curious about the learnings from various site visits and understanding. This hands-on experience is crucial to my growth as a design professional, and I anticipate a rewarding journey of learning and contributing to the firm’s projects.

INOUT DESIGN STUDIO founded by Ar. Prutha Prabhudesai in Madgaon, Goa, in 2019, who did her bachelors from Goa College of Architecture. Inout design studio drives with a passion for transforming ideas into built environment.

ABOUT THE OFFICE

Inout Design Studio felt like a small, close-knit family with a strong spirit of unity and collaboration. What truly stood out during my time there was the opportunity to work directly on projects under the guidance of the principal architect, Ar. Prutha Prabhudesai. She was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also remarkably sweet by nature, making her an excellent mentor. Her guidance and support through sketches, photos, and way of speaking were very understandable in my professional growth.

The office environment was informative with Prutha Ma’am and Ayesha Ma’am, who mentored me on the intricacies of rules about TCP, online and offline submission drawings, and execution in a very simple way. Beyond that, my colleagues were friendly and welcoming, making the studio a lively and enjoyable place to work. It was the perfect blend of camaraderie and dedication to producing high-quality work. The site visits were so much fun, interactive, and informative with Pruth Ma’am. The collective spirit of the team made every day at the studio not only productive but also fun and rewarding. I cherished my time at Inout Design Studio for the invaluable experience and the wonderful people who made it feel like a home away from home.

TYPE OF WORK AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inout Design Studio presented me with a unique opportunity to work on assignments that resonated with my passion and aspirations. I had the privilege to delve into various aspects of the design process, from creating innovative design concepts to engaging in insightful conversations with clients to understand their vision.

Site visits were very useful in differentiating drawings and actual work processes with the tangible transformation of spaces. On the other hand, accompanying ma’am for material selections challenged me to explore the aesthetic and functional potential of different elements.

Detailing and submission drawings and working drawings became an integral part of my daily routine, honing my skills in precision and accuracy. This holistic approach to design allowed me to grow both as a creative thinker and a meticulous executor. Inout Design Studio provided me with the platform to work on projects that aligned perfectly with my interests and, in the process, helped me evolve as a well-rounded design professional.

MY EXPERIENCE

My experience at Inout Design Studio exceeded all my expectations. It became a second home for me, to the extent that leaving the internship brought tears to my eyes. The enthusiasm and anticipation of waking up every day to go to the office made me realize just how much I was truly enjoying my time there. I gained a tremendous amount of confidence and had the opportunity to work on precisely the kinds of projects I had always yearned to be a part of.

PROJECT: Mr. Denzil Soares Residence

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Situated in Telaulim, Goa

PROJECT TYPE: Residential

CLIENT: Mr. Denzil Soares

SITE AREA: 382 sq.m

Mr. Denzil Soares works abroad and his family resides in goa. He came with a vision of creating the perfect family home. He envisions a spacious and welcoming house considering Vastu for his family and friends, which not only caters to their daily needs but also provides a dedicated space for religious ceremonies and festivities. To achieve this, the design incorporates a beautiful altar room where the family can gather for prayers and celebrate traditions. Additionally, the client desires a deck for barbecue parties, fostering moments of togetherness, and a sparkling swimming pool to add a touch of luxury to their lifestyle.

In terms of aesthetics, the client is keen on embracing the charm of Goan culture, and therefore, the design will incorporate exquisite Goan mouldings, bringing a touch of tradition and elegance to the architecture. The client has also emphasized the importance of glass windows to allow ample natural light to flood the interiors while offering a seamless connection to the outdoors. The facade and elevational treatment will be meticulously crafted to mirror the reference images provided, ensuring the house stands as a true reflection of the client’s dream family home.

Mr. Pachaeco approached our architectural firm with a unique and intriguing project. The client is seeking our expertise to design a two-story apartment building with a 1BHK typology on his property, which already includes his existing bungalow. The distinctive aspect of this project is that he wishes to utilize the backside of his house for this development while preserving a cherished chickoo tree within the plot. Furthermore, the client is enthusiastic about incorporating elevational elements similar to his house to match his property. This project was a challenge to experiment and design comfortable space but as compact planning. It was a learning throughout the process.

OPPORTUNITIES AND TASKS:

1. Be an integral part of design team & design out various options for the client.

2. Discussing designs with Principal Architect Ar. Prutha Ma’am and making favourable correction.

4. Conversing with Mr. Pachaeco multiple times, explaining the design and taking his inputs. 5. Calculations and how by laws works in such situations.

Statement of Areas

PROJECT: Measure Drawing of existing built structures

PLOT DESCRIPTION: Situated in Sawantwada-Palolem, Guest Houses for rental Purpose. Situated in Tembawada- Palolem, Independent House.

PURPOSE OF MEASURE DRAWING: To create floor plans & other technical drawings for renovation of the property into a luxury tourist accomodation as per standards provided by the client.

TIME LIMIT: 6 months CLIENT: Mr. Dinesh Chudasama

1. Knowledge regarding measureing structures and kinly observing them.

2. Drafting the drawings on CAD according to the measurements.

PROJECT: SWEET NATION & NANBAI CART

PLOT DESCRIPTION: Situated in Candolim

PROJECT TYPE: Commercial

CLIENT: Mr. Ujjwal Tripathi

The loyal client Mr. Ujjwal, of Sweet Nation and Nanbai has returned with yet another intriguing project, one that takes a departure from the realm of static structures and embraces mobility. Given their active involvement in various stalls and events, the client expressed the need for a versatile, mobile design that could adapt to different settings and circumstances. They envision a compact, easily transportable structure, pieced together with parts that facilitate effortless travel and quick assembly, ensuring convenience no matter where it’s deployed. What sets this client apart is their openness to creative experimentation, encouraging the creative minds at Sweet Nation and Nanbai to explore innovative solutions that can redefine the boundaries of mobile design. This exciting collaboration promises to yield a dynamic and adaptable creation that aligns perfectly with the client’s vision.

CLIENT: Mr. Ujjwal Tripathi

Our studio was delighted to be approached by a client with a vision to expand the Sweet Nation and Nanbai branch in Candolim, following the successful design of the Madgaon branch by Inout Design Studio, under the creative direction of Architect Prutha Ma’am. The client, an inspiring chef, possesses an unwavering passion for his profession, which was evident in his commitment to creating exceptional culinary experiences. What set him apart was his open-minded approach to design, embracing various possibilities to craft a desirable space for both his customers and the dedicated individuals working in his restaurant. This project promises to be a fusion of culinary excellence and innovative design, where every detail is curated with utmost care.

PROJECT: SMILE CRAFT DENTAL CLINIC- RENOVATING INTERIORS

PLOT DESCRIPTION: Situated in Borda, Margao, Goa

PROJECT TYPE: Renovation- Interiors

CLIENT: Mr. Pereira Schuyler

Mr. Schuyler approached our studio visioning rejuvenating his dental clinic. His wish to create his clinic more convenient and comfortable was his major point. During our initial consultation, he meticulously detailed his vision for the space, emphasizing the importance of a warm and inviting atmosphere for his patients. We took every one of his comfort-related preferences into account and worked diligently to craft a design that seamlessly integrated those elements. The end result was a dental clinic that not only met the doctor’s expectations but also exceeded them, providing a pleasant and soothing experience for both patients and staff alike.

This ambitious project encompasses four charming bungalows, each boasting a spaciou 3BHK typology. What sets this endeavor apart is that every intricate detail, from the interiors to the exteriors, bears the distinctive touch of ma’am’s visionary design and aesthetic sensibility. With its rich blend of Goan heritage and contemporary elegance, this row house project is destined to offer guests an unforgettable experience in the enchanting setting of Old Goa.

Hailing from London, Velanny brought with her a vision for her living space that reflected her contemporary sensibilities. Our dedicated team embraced her aspirations and, with skill and creativity, presented a vision that not only met her modern design expectations but also ensured the practicality and feasibility of the proposed ideas. With a commitment to making Velanny’s dreams a reality, our firm embarked on a collaborative journey that promises to transform her 2BHK flat into a beautiful, functional, and modern sanctuary in the heart of Goa.

The opportunities I encountered during this period not only boosted my confidence in project management but also honed my communication skills with various stakeholders. My learning in this firm is more hands-on, practical, and oriented towards managing projects. I came across complexities of design, client interactions, and the collaborative nature of the architectural process. Working under the guidance of Ar.
