KALYANI OR PUSHKARANI
It is the most important temple in Mandya
Dedicated to Lord Cheluva-Narayana Swamy, the temple is also frequented by the Kings of Mysore. It has an exquisite collection of the jewels There are three crowns presented to the temple which are kept saying and brought out on special occasions It is located on the top of the Yadugiri hills and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. People belonging to the Vaishnava community consider it an important shrine.It is believed that Lord Rama visited the temple and worshiped here.
This temple located on the top of the hill. It is dedicated to the Lord Yoga Narasimha. The King of Mysore had presented a gold crown to the Lord. The main deity is in seated posture with the Yogapatta. It is believed that the idol of Lord Yoganarasimha was installed in the temple by Prahlada. The temple is considered to be one of the seven holy centers devoted to the worship of Narasimha

According to the legends of the Matsya Purana, Lord Vishnu’s carrier, the eagle- Garuda carried white clay from Lord Vishnu’s planet, Svetadvipa and deposited it at the Kalyani.
The Kalyani is a square shaped pond with steps on all four sides, surrounded by corridors held up by stone pillars. This ancient temple tank has a history spanning over 1000 years and is considered o be the largest of 108 temple tanks in the district. The Kalyani tank is at the base of the Yoga Narasimha temple. A variety of everyday and festive rituals associated with Melukote revolve around the Panchakalyani, making it a significant structure in the precinct.
