Introduction The lines of tourist, tourist – fishing commodities and outfit are represented by the commercial brands: HOLIDAY, NORFIN. In the WINTER 2015/2016 season SALMO offers new commodity items for angling and tourism.

The necessary new products have appeared in the fishing assortment.

The fishing tackle production range has been expanded including new models of ice-fishing rods, reels and fishing lines from SALMO, as the models of reasonable price and of high quality.

The whole programme of ice – fishing lures is being offered: Mormyshka, balanced lures and spoonbaits – of LUCKY JOHN & SALMO commercial brands.

Lure for Vertical Fishing Lucky John Pro Series Mebaru

MEBARU is a new balancer especially designed for angling of predatory fish from the ice or vertically from a boat. The lure has sufficient weight; therefore, it is effective for angling of fish at great depths, on rivers with low current or from a drifting boat. It ensures accurate and stable play at any depth. When angling with this lure, the technique used is similar to the one used when angling with balancers or spoon-baits. It is recommended to take a pause of one or more seconds between the drops of the lure, depending on the activity of predatory fish.

The structure is a single cast made from frost-resistant ABS Plastic.

A long tail is highly durable and ensures precise turns of the lure in the extreme points of the trajectory of its movement. During the pause, the lure returns to its initial point always head first, which does not alarm the predatory fish, but rather attracts it even more.

Its spinal fin made of brass has three holes. The play of the MEBARU lure will differ depending on the hole to which the fastener is attached.

1. Fixture of the lure by the middle hole. In this case, its play is wider – the fishing area is the greatest and the lure moves away from the centre for the maximum distance. In case of such fixture, the lure creates maximum fluctuations of water and become more noticeable for predatory fish while staying at a distance of several metres from it. Recommended for fishing at great depths, in places where there

are no snags or aquatic vegetation, as well as during the period when the first ice appears.

2. Fixture of the lure by the front hole. When moving, the lure has the greatest vertical component and more aggressive play.

Recommended for angling when the search of fish is carried out by orderly fishing out different depths.

3. Fixture of the lure by the rear hole. When angling the fish using this fixture of the lure, its play is calmer and the area of fishing is slightly smaller. A highly effective method when angling in the dead of winter and in places with snagged bottom or aquatic vegetation.

Special “bloody” series of colours distinguish this lure from other lures with tedious colours, thus promoting fast and effective attack on the fish.

MEBARU lure is equipped with two high-quality Japanese hooks OWNER. Recommended for angling of pike perch, pike, trout and large perch.

Soft lure LJ Hogy Hog package It is difficult to say, which food item is imitated by the lure Hogy Hog. It resembles both a small crustacean and a big slug of an insect: a small body, few pairs of legs, two «tentacles» and two massive «claws» in the rear part. The fantasy crustacean lure has distinct shrimp or crawfish flavour and scent; it is offered in several colours. The most universal colours for perch angling are considered to be the following colours: Cola (PA16), Green Pumpkin (PA03) and Mr.Brown (PA17). Special series with provocative colours is produced for trout angling: Pink Troutino (052) and Bubblegum (031). A classically shaped efficient tungsten mormyshka with a soldered coloured head. The spherical shape of the lure provides it with maximum weight and minimum volume. The inlet on the head and the outlet on the lure’s body are crimped in order to protect the fishing line from damage. The beads loosely attached to the shank of the hook move attractively during the play of the lure. This allows fish to be caught successfully with just a mormyshka, making the use of bloodworms unecessary.

Lucky John «BAITLESS» Tungsten Mormyshkas These baitless tungsten jigs appeared at SALMO Company comparatively not long time ago, and immediately became very popular among anglers. Initially the developers of jigs didn’t have a task of usual expansion of the assortment of lures, but there emerged a necessity in creation of really «working» and efficient lures. Therefore, more than one winter fishing season have been spent in order to choose and to test the lures, which are represented on the spread of the Catalogue.

All baitless jigs have passed tests and proved their attractiveness and high efficiency at catching of various fish species in rivers and watercourses of Baltics, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Baitless fishing becomes increasingly popular year in year out, as the practice has proved bigger fish bites these jigs. All baitless jigs are made applying original Japanese hooks. Tugsten Mormyshka with EYELET, WING AND BEADS Lucky John «NYMPH» These jigs are made on the basis of the 8243 «Nymph» series jigs with an eyelet, represented by two sizes and one classic black colour. These jigs have beads of corresponding colours and an additional moving wing – diaphragm.

Even at a slightest wobbling of the jig under water, the diaphragm starts moving and swings like gills or tarsus of an underwater insect, but the contrasting beads, as an aim, serves as the target of an attack.

For pike-perch fishing it can be successfully used at the depth of up to 13 metres, provided there is no stream in the pond. The following colours are particularly efficient for pike –perch: with blue back, «red head» – 18 and glowing – 33. Proved that at bad bite a pike – perch reacts to the colour 37. The bigger is the lure the bigger is the trophy! Depending on watercourse an attractive size of a lure should be approximated to the size of a fry from the prey item. The length of the lureis 80 mm.

This lure can be used for pike-perch fishing at the depth up to 20 metres.

Recommended colours for the «long jaws» are bright, with yellow and red colours prevailing. Don’t forget to use the gleaming colour – 33, «the red head» – 18 and to pick up lures with red tails. At bad bite you can get the best results with the 37th colour. For fishing with these lures it is necessary to use a thicker monofilament line with diameter of up to 0.32 mm or a braided line of up to 0.20 mm.

Sometimes a pike or a pike-perch reacts only to a big lure, actively moving in the bottom layer. These sufficiently big 90 mm – long lures harvest a big area under the hole and attract predators from a long way off. Don’t forget that the bigger lure requires a longer pause between the rod strokes. These lures can be successfully used on rivers with streams and for sheer fishing, at open water in warm season. For these lures it is recommended to use monofilament lines with diameter of up to 0.35 mm, or a braided line of up to 0.20 mm.

Perch is a cannibal – it eats very well its own small fries, therefore, first and foremost, try «striped» colours of lures.

The lures of up to 25 mm long are used for fishing at the depth of up to 4 metres with use of a monofilament line with diameter of 0.12 up to 0.16 mm. In places where it is impossible to avoid hooking of submergent plants we recommend using a braided line of 0.09 mm. Fishing Winter Tent Holiday EASY ICE

We have designed a wide range of winter tents designed especially for ice fishing enthusiasts within our HOLIDAY program. Light and compact for transportation our HOLIDAY tents are not only able to protect the angler from wind and frost, but also provide safe dwelling during night fishing. Side walls are featured by windows with curtains that not only let light into the tent, but also serve for additional ventilation.

The rigid structure consisting of elastic fiberglass elements can be easily dismantled and placed in the transportation bag.

To secure the tent on ice, the tent is equipped with a set of hooks used to fix the tent on the sides of half-drilled holes in the ice. Tents are produced with a standard design and with semi-automatic set up system.

For the new 2015/2016 winter season NORFIN offers a wide range of winter clothing: suits, jackets, thermal underwear, socks, hats and gloves. The main innovation for the winter season is the fourth model of the popular NORFIN EXTREME suit. The central feature of the NORFIN EXTREME 4 suit with zip-out inner jacket is that its outer jacket has additional HOLLOFIL insulation. Consequently, the suit is even warmer than before and is now suitable for temperatures down to -35˚С. It should also be noted that the suit has an updated design and an increased number of pockets. The new model has front chest pockets with splash resistant zips. The suit is brown, a highly popular colour among anglers right now. Another innovation is the NORFIN ACTIVE suit. This was designed as a universal suit for winter and offseason angling, when, in temperatures slightly above zero, it is easier to freeze when sitting motionless in a boat or on the shore, than when on the ice. A distinctive feature of this suit is its light weight and easy fit, which provide maximum freedom of movement. NORFIN’s designers have also created new LIMITED EDITION DISCOVERY suit with more distinguishable colours and design. This popular suit is available in three colours: brown, grey and a new shade of dark blue. Dark blue was the most desired colour according to an opinion poll of anglers. There have also been some changes to the insulated layer in NORFIN clothing. A new version of our most popular fleece suit, the NORFIN POLAR LINE, made from the new NORFLEECE Thermo fleece, is now available. This is durable material, which breathes well, keeps

Rich in micro bubbles (foam rubber), the material has perfect thermal insulation abilities and is lightweight. The boots weigh 30-40 % less than their rubber or PVC counterparts.

Three-layer 12 mm liner ensures secure thermal insulation. ‣ Polyester layer – ensures thermal insulation, absorbs and wicks away moisture, ‣ Foil repels cold, maintaining the body temperature, ‣ Felt layer retains warmth, thus ensuring necessary thermal insulation.

Two removable insoles, provide excellent insulation from cold when standing on ice.

Snow protection is made of durable nylon and is fixed by snaps.

There is an elastic neoprene insert sewed in the front part of the insole that allows easy putting shoes on and off.

Boots are featured with two removable footbeds: in the insole and between the insole and the bottom; they keep heat during long-term dwelling on ice.

Inside three layers “breathable” footbed of the insole is made of the same polyester that the insole is. The lower perforative insulation is of width 7 mm and made of neoprene.

The boots have bottoms with protector for ice gliding prevention. The upper is provided with snow protection made of wear proof nylon with button-push clamper.

NORFIN HUNTING As a company the main goal of which is to satisfy the need in good clothing intended for active outdoor recreation, it endeavours to provide high-tech and high-quality products to all those passionate about outdoor recreation.

NORFIN means extensive experience in creating clothing for fishing and active recreation, which has proven itself over time, as well as gained acceptance by many experts, amateur anglers, tourists and participants of popular expeditions.

As a result, a team of experts has created a new, dynamic clothing series – NORFIN HUNTING designed for hunters and people

passionate about outdoor recreation. In the process of development of NORFIN HUNTING clothing, company’s experts relied on their huge experience, desires of professional hunters, and climatic conditions of the regions of Russia and neighbouring countries.

The collection was initially presented at the beginning of the winter 2013/2014. For the new winter season, the assortment of NORFIN HUNTING clothing became even more diverse. A novelty is offered for hunting on foot – Wild Green suit, and a new fleece suit Forest Staidness – for a warming layer. This season, clothing was supplemented by footwear: Discovery boots and Forest high boots.

A convenient and durable metallic reel for vertical angling, designed on the basis of reels for fly fishing. The reel is equipped with a friction brake with a precise adjustment mechanism, which helps to reduce line breaking during a stiff strike or bites from large fish.

Multiplier reel designed for winter rods for vertical angling. The largediameter spool reel enables fish to be lured at depth using only the reel, as during spinning fishing — there is no need to pull on the line by hand. An open spool enables visual control of the reeling of the line onto the spool.

The reel does not have a line laying mechanism. The spool and reel body are made of frost-resistant carbon-filled plastics; the double handle and friction brake handle are made of an aluminium alloy. The reel is attached to the bottom of the rod handle, similarly to a simple fixed-spool reel, for use by the left hand (it can be adjusted for use with the right hand).

A distinctive feature of this reel is its elongated stem which provides sufficient freedom for the fingers when holding the rod during fishing.

Unlike all polymer fishing lines, the sinking FLUOROCARBON fishing line (specific weight – 1.72 g/cm3) has practically no defects on the surface, therefore it retains its technical parameters much longer.

The colourless fishing line is absolutely invisible in water, which was repeatedly confirmed while angling cautious trout. The fluorocarbon fishing line always has more bites than the normal fishing line of the same diameter! The advantage of this sinking fishing line manifests in increasing the sensitivity of the fishing tackle. If we use a normal fishing line for mormyshka fishing at depths up to three meters, the contact with the fishing line is not lost up to a depth of four meters when using a sinking fishing line of the same diameter and the same mormyshka.
