Separate the front and back with a center division line and clip for control. In the front, create one triangle in the center and two on each side.
Beginning on the side, take ¼-inch diagonal back sections. Skim off the top of each section, place it in foil and apply Formula 1.
Continue until section is complete and move to the opposite side.
Move to the top triangle and split it down the center. Take a ¼-inch section along the side of the triangle. Skim off the top of this section and place it in a foil, then apply Formula 1. Create smaller sections closer to the base of the triangle. Complete one side then move to the other side, following the same pattern.
Moving to the back segments, take ¼-inch strong diagonal forward sections, skim off the top, place in a foil and apply Formula 1. Continue pattern until reaching the top of the segment.
After completing back sections, move to the other side and follow the same pattern.
Process until level 9 is reached.
Remove foils, rinse and shampoo with Paul Mitchell Color Protect Post Color Shampoo.
Towel dry thoroughly and section the hairline around the whole head about 2 inches wide.
Apply Formula 3 to the hairline and Formula 2 to remaining hair.
Process for 20 minutes.
Rinse and cleanse with Paul Mitchell Color Protect Post Color Shampoo or Bond Rx Shampoo.
On towel-dried hair, apply Bond Rx Step 2. Process 5-15 minutes. Rinse and blow-dry to activate the Bond Rx Technology.

Divide hair into 5 segments: 4 standard and the 5th as the mohawk segment. Beginning in the back segment, take 1/2-inch sections, tease the base and apply lightener. PRO TIP: Section size is customized based on the guest’s goal, hair density and existing previous blonde in the hair.
Continue with segments 1 and 2 in the same pattern. PRO TIP: If hair between foils needs lightening, use tip-out method to create an organic feel. Pictured result includes three sections with a tip-out to blend the darker underneath.
Move to segment 3. Switch to 1/4” sections for segments 3-5 for a softer result and blend.
Take diagonal back sections around the hairline. PRO TIP: Follow the natural hairline until you can switch to horizontal sections for the rest of the segment.
Move to the opposite side and repeat. PRO TIP: Use the tip-out method if necessary to brighten up ends of hair.
Move to segment 5. For foil direction and placement, follow the natural hairline. Use ¼-inch sections around the hairline for a softer appearance. Continue through the mohawk segment. Take ¼-inch sections and baby-light the highlights for a seamless look.
Process until hair has reached level 10. Rinse and shampoo with Paul Mitchell Color Protect Post Color Shampoo. PRO TIP: Stagger developers to process everything together.
Towel dry well. Comb through hair gently to detangle, then separate front from back. Paint Formula 4 on key pieces of the hair where additional brightening is desired.
PRO TIP: This can be customized based on desired result.
Use a detangling brush to gently distribute lightener through hair and ensure even blending. Note: Be sure to apply quickly and monitor progress, as processing can be quick. PRO TIP: Perform at shampoo bowl for quick rinsing. Focus on face-framing pieces and random ends for an organic look.
After achieving desired lightness, shampoo with Paul Mitchell Color Protect Post Color Shampoo and follow with your favorite Paul Mitchell conditioner. Towel dry well.
Section front hairline from the rest of the hair.
Use Formula 5 on base and drag down about 2-3 inches, beginning in the back segments.
Move to side segments and drag Formula 5 down about 2 inches.
Root gloss the front hairline last and baby tap the hairline about a ½ inch to blend slightly and keep the front a bit brighter.
After completing root melt and tap, apply Formula 6 to the rest of the hair, melting Formulas 1 and 2 together.
Comb through with a wide tooth comb for even saturation and blending.
Once desired tone is achieved, shampoo with Paul Mitchell Color Protect Post Color Shampoo and follow with your favorite Paul Mitchell conditioner.

Create 3 segments (top segment, middle, and nape).
Starting in the middle segment, take a ¼-inch slight diagonal back section. Tease and apply Formula 1. Pro tip: Feather upward to blend seamlessly and prevent harsh lines.
Continue all the way around to the back of the head.
Moving to the other side of head, take a ¼-inch slight diagonal back section. Tease and apply Formula 1. Once middle segment is complete, move to the top mohawk segment.
Following the angle of the front hairline, babylight using Formula 1.
Directly behind the hairline foils, take ¼- inch horizontal sections. Tease and apply Formula 1 by feathering upward.
Continue until reaching the back of segment and process until level 9 is reached.
Remove foils, rinse and shampoo with Paul Mitchell Color Protect Post Color Shampoo.
Towel dry thoroughly. Apply Formula 2 to the roots and Formula 3 to mid-lengths and ends.
Process for 15-20 minutes, depending on the desired tonal result.
