It is in this place, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria surrounded by unspoilt natural beauty, that we have brought to life an ambitious project, which began in 2006, to convert 28 hectares of land to organic farming.

The Kemon Open Lab is a true ‘openair laboratory’, the beating heart of the company’s research activities. Here, where the passion for innovation meets the love for nature, we grow our medicinal plants and study their properties to fully harness their cosmetic potential and develop ever more effective and efficient formulations.

We contribute to becoming carbon neutral by offsetting energy from renewable sources and purchasing GO (Guarantee of Origin) certified electricity.

Photovoltaic repowering

It has allowed us to cover up to 40% of our energy needs in production.

Wastewater treatment plant revamping

The revamping process has enabled us to decrease the amount of water used to manufacture our products by over 23% and the amount of waste produced by our treatment plant by over 35%.

Heat recovery systems

The implementation of heat recovery systems has optimised energy efficiency, allowing waste heat from industrial processes or equipment to be used to heat other areas.

Thermal insulation testing of pipelines

Pipelines are subject to thermal insulation testing to prevent heat loss and reduce heat waste.

Packaging Sustainable

Tubes made from recycled aluminium containing over 95% PCR and mono-material PP and PE tubes with lowprofile design to facilitate the recycling process and optimise the use of plastic material.

Containers made from Green PE, a material composed of 96% renewable raw material of plant origin, as well as 50% rPE and 100% rPET containers made of post-consumer recycled plastic.

Boxes made of FSC-certified paper with a fibrous content of 90% recycled fibres.

Pouch bags saving up to 75% plastic compared to traditional bottles.

By preventing colour intermediates from oxidising prematurely, this technology enables them to penetrate deeper and in greater numbers inside the hair fibre, where they become trapped once they develop into pigments. The balanced alkalising action allows for minimal cuticle swelling and sensitisation of the hair, ensuring a more compact and pigment-rich hair fibre that will express more beautiful and vibrant tones and maintain the colour shiny and intact.

Coconut oil and lauric acid

The coconut oil in the colour cream, due to its low-melting-point and antioxidant properties, acts as an additional support to Shield technology and makes the texture fluid and smooth, enabling quick mixing and an even, easy and accurate application. This unique texture also provides the needed grip and homogeneity to produce excellent coverage. Additionally, it is rich in lauric acid, a triglyceride that is highly similar to the hair’s protein structure, penetrates deep inside the cuticle, preventing damage and thus ensuring a protected and hydrated hair fibre plus a more vibrant and lasting colour result.

CORRECTORS

INTENSIFIERS

Shade CI.55 is used to intensify red tones. Example: mix 30 ml of 6.55 + 20 ml of CI.55 with 50 ml of Uni.Color Oxi.

Note – Intensifier CI.55 can be added in greater amounts than corrector CI.13; however, if the amount of intensifier exceeds 1/4 of the mixture with the chosen shade, it will be necessary to add Uni.Color Oxi also for the CI.55 part in a 1:1 mixing ratio.

Coconut oil is known for its emollient, protective and shineboosting properties and quickly allows for a rich product with a highly cosmetic action.

Extra-coverage hair colour

The Super Naturals and Nordic Super Naturals make it possible to respond to the needs of clients who have always experienced coverage problems, providing the choice of a warmer or essentially cool tone.

Bleach-free blonde

The Ultra-lighteners are excellent for one-step lightening (up to 3 levels if the hair is colour treated and up to 4 levels if it is natural) and toning, producing perfect and luminous blondes without bleaching. This service requires an accurate assessment of the hair’s existing colour, but it can really be a very good alternative to bleaching, including on more sensitive hair.

ILLUMINATORS

The ideal series for toning coloured or chemically treated mid-shafts and ends, delivering extreme brilliance and long-lasting results.

Mixing ratio: 1:1.5 with 6 vol. Uni.Color Oxi.

Processing time: 5 to 20 minutes.

The Illuminators have an essentially neutral pH and can be used alone or in combination with the rest of the colour applied at the roots. Mixing the Illuminators with the other shades will produce a delicate formula that is especially suited to achieve perfect colour results on porous hair. The series consists of 5 shades that cover all the colourist’s needs.

Application: while the colour applied at the roots is processing distribute the mixture throughout the mid-shafts and ends using an Illuminator of the same tone. If applied on their own, the Illuminators restore the tone without changing the level. If applied in combination with the colour, they are always mixed in equal parts and can recover both level and tone. A service with this series will always leave the hair luminous and easy to detangle.

For subtle results and no regrowth touch-up commitment, mix with 6 vol. Uni.Color Oxi.

If there is regrowth, make sure you apply the colour just at the roots; apply the colour on the midshafts and ends only if necessary and allow it to process for 2 minutes at the most.

CRAZYTONES

The CrazyTones are ideal to create vibrant and bold colour results.

Mixing ratio: 1:1.5 with 6 vol. Uni.Color Oxi.

Processing time: 20 minutes on pre-lightened hair.

This series can be used to add intensity to Cramer Color tone-on-tone shades. Combine Cramer Color tone-on-tone shades with the amount of CrazyTone(s) needed to achieve the desired result, respecting the 1:1.5 mixing ratio.

Example: mix 30 ml of Cramer Color tone on tone 7.4 + 20 ml of CrazyTone Orange + 75 ml of Uni. Color Oxi.

The CrazyTones can also be added to correct and customise any Cramer Color tone-on-tone shade.

Use the CrazyTones as correctors according to the table.

The CrazyTone amounts specified in the table refer to a 50 ml dose of colour. Example: 50 ml of Cramer Color tone on tone 4.8 + 5 cm of CrazyTone Navy Blue + 75 ml of Uni.Color Oxi.

Ammonia-free re-toning

Cramer Color tone on tone mixed with 6 vol. Uni.Color Oxi is ideal for restoring level and tone to colour-treated hair between colour treatments to keep the tone rich and vibrant.

Natural coverage hair colour

For clients seeking brilliance or wishing to minimise the regrowth touch-up commitment, it is possible to apply tone-on-tone shades with 16 vol. Uni.Color Oxi without the need to mix them with the natural base.

Masking

Cramer Color tone on tone and 6 vol. Uni.Color Oxi make it possible to manage the first grey/white hairs by providing up to 30% masking. The tones will look natural and vibrant while the short-term regrowth will hardly be noticed.

Illuminators

The use of the Illuminators is ideal to increase tonal intensity, tone blondes and enhance brilliance, ensuring lustrous results even on treated mid-shafts and ends.

Pastels

The perfect series to create shiny and long-lasting pastel results. These shades are used with 6 vol. Uni.Color Oxi on pre-lightened hair.

The natural and direct coverage series are positioned on the outer wheel. The inner wheel shows all the fashion series based on the expressed colour tone. Golden Mahoganies (.36), Golden Violets (.37), Ash Mahoganies (.16) and Copper Ashes (.41) are direct coverage shades and, therefore, are positioned on the outer wheel.

The natural actives used in the formula of the two products work synergistically to achieve perfect results in terms of colour lustre. Apply a walnut-sized amount of Yo Hand Cream on the back of one hand and distribute throughout the entire surface with a light massage.

Position both thumbs on the back of the hand and create sliding pressures, starting from the knuckles to the wrist.

Slide down every finger using medium pressure. Start from the knuckles and work towards the tips.

Rotate the hand and start working on the inner part. Massage the entire area with deep, circular motions using the thumbs. Use the fingertips to press energetically, especially in the thicker areas like the base of the thumb.

Encircle the wrist with both hands, keeping the thumbs spread and alongside each other, positioned on the inner part. Do three finger pressures with both thumbs on three points: end of the wrist, mid forearm and forearm.

Rotate the hand again and, squeezing one finger at a time between the index and middle fingers, slide a few times towards the outside. Pull each finger gently, from the base to the tip. This stroke helps release negative energy.

Cross your hand with the client’s, hold their wrist with the other hand and guide some wrist rotations, first clockwise, then anticlockwise (3 to 6 times).

Mixing

1. Unscrew the cap from the Lunex Restore bottle and screw in the dosing device with assembled dip tube. Make sure it is tightly fitted to the neck of the bottle.

2. Squeeze the bottle to fill the dosing device with the needed amount of Lunex Restore.

3. Follow the indications provided in the table below to calculate the right amount of Lunex Restore based on the type of bleach used.

4. Thoroughly mix the bleach and developer until creamy smooth.

5. Lift the cap of the dosing device and pour the measured amount of product into the previously mixed bleach, then blend with a brush until creamy smooth.

6. Proceed to apply.

N.B. Calculate the needed amount of Lunex Restore based on the amount of bleach, not the amount of mixture.

Moreover, adding Lunex Restore may cause a change to the texture of the mixture and alter its excellent adherence to hair, which is essential for freehand lightening techniques.

LEVELS OF LIFT AND PROCESSING TIMES

The lightening result will depend on the amount of product applied on each section and on the strength of Uni.Color Oxi used: the higher the product amount and the developer volumes, the lighter the result.

The clay-based texture quickly dries on the outside while allowing the lightening action to continue on the inside, thus protecting the rest of the hair from stains and product transfer, and ensuring neat and accurate results as well as ultimate comfort.

The lightening action stops when the product hardens on hair; therefore, it is important to reach the desired degree of lift before this occurs, because freehand techniques do not allow the product to be re-applied precisely on previously lightened areas.

The lightening action is progressive and needs to be visually checked: once the desired degree of lift has been achieved, proceed to rinse.

For more than 2 levels of lift, it is recommended to use Lunex Clay Powder with 30 or 40 vol. Uni.Color Oxi. Lunex Clay Powder is used with 10 or 20 vol. Uni.Color Oxi only for soft, natural-looking lightening effects.

The hair condition must always be taken into account because the speed and result of the lightening process may vary – as happens with all bleaching products – depending on hair porosity, degree of sensitisation and type (natural, colour-treated, permed or straightened hair).

Start application from the back of the nape, work all the way up to the top of the head and include the front. Identify the hair sections to lighten and apply the product starting at about 1 cm from the roots, gently distribute it on the outer portion of each section with the brush, without pressing. Due to its particular texture, the mixture will firmly adhere to the section surface without dripping on the hair underneath.

3. Consult with the client on any previous technical treatments performed.

Step 2 – Cleansing with Unamy Start Shampoo

Get the hair wet and distribute the product to the entire head of hair, massage gently and rinse thoroughly. The goal is to remove any excess sebum or the residue of previously applied styling products in order to prepare the hair to receive the technical treatment.

Step 3 – Preparing with Unamy Wave Equalizer

1. Apply the equalising fluid and comb to distribute the product evenly throughout the hair.

2. Unamy Wave Equalizer acts selectively in the most sensitive areas; it protects the hair structure, allowing the full head of hair to absorb the waving lotion evenly.

3. Leave in place for 3 minutes, then rinse. If the hair is sensitised, it is recommended to repeat the application with a small amount of product directly in the most porous areas without rinsing.

Step 4 – Winding the rollers

Begin winding the rollers using the desired tools and technique. The goal is to give the desired direction and movement to the hair. During winding do not pull the sections too much and use the papers to keep the ends tidy within the roller. In this phase, it is important to keep the hair damp by spraying it with water.

Step 5 - Saturating with Unamy Wave Lotion

1. Once winding is complete, apply a strip of cotton along the hairline. 2. Make the client wear a disposable cape and place a basin to gather liquid at the base of the back of the head.

3. Apply Unamy Wave Lotion directly on the rollers starting from the back of the head.

4. Once finished, replace the strip of cotton and apply a cap.

Step 6 – Processing time

Step 2 – Cleansing with Unamy Start Shampoo

Step 3 - Applying Unamy Liss

1. Section the hair into 4 quadrants with a cross parting running from the front hairline to the nape and from ear to ear.

2. Using a brush, begin application from the back area, creating sections approximately 1 cm wide.

3. Apply Unamy Liss starting 1 cm from the scalp, depositing the product both on the top and bottom surfaces of each section and avoiding contact with the scalp.

4. Continue taking sections up to the centre of the head, then move on to the side taking vertical sections and work your way to the front hairline.

5. Once finished applying the product, make sure the hair is kept very straight. To do so, use a wide tooth comb when the hair is no longer tangled.

Step 4 – Processing time

5 minutes after the start of the treatment, check the hair to establish the exact processing time. The product can be left in place for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Step 5 – Rinsing

Rinse the hair very thoroughly for at least 10 minutes, keeping it very straight, then towel dry.

1. Divide the hair into 4 sections and begin application from the nape, creating horizontal subsections.

Directions for use

Step 1 – Diagnosis

Check to see if the hair is natural or colour treated and determine its degree of porosity and sensitisation.

Step 2 – Treating the hair with Unamy Control Pre-Treat

Distribute and massage gently. Apply 2 or 3 times depending on the condition of the hair.

Step 3 – Processing time

Leave Unamy Control Pre-Treat in place for 3 minutes only after the last product application. The hair can be covered with a cap to make the service more comfortable.

Step 4 – Rinsing

1. Rinse thoroughly to remove any residual lather.

2. After rinsing, the hair should feel very dry to the touch.

3. Check for proper rinsing by emulsifying the hair. If lather appears, rinse again.

4. Towel dry the hair.

Step 5 – Preparing the hair

Comb the hair. If the hair is difficult to detangle, wear gloves and apply a small amount of Unamy Control Intensive. This will ease tangles instantly and make hair easy to comb.

Step 6 – Applying the more appropriate Unamy Control treatment

1. Wear protective disposable gloves, then dispense Unamy Control Intensive into a bowl. The amount of product varies depending on hair length and density.

2. Divide the hair into sections approximately 1.5 cm wide.

3. Start from the nape and apply the product section by section with a brush, avoiding the scalp.

4. Comb each section repeatedly and massage it to make sure it is fully saturated. This is essential for even product distribution throughout the hair structure.

Step 7 – Processing time

Leave in place for 25 minutes, covering the hair with a cap to add to the comfort of the service.

Step 8 – Rinsing

Smooth service: in this phase, rinse thoroughly to remove any product residue. Apply Unamy Control Mask, leave in place for 3 minutes, rinse and towel dry.

Straight service: use little water in this phase (about half a litre, depending on hair length and density). Emulsify, then comb out some of the product and leave some in the hair. Apply Unamy Control Mask, comb through the hair and rinse immediately again with very little water.

Step 9 – Drying

Blow-dry the hair completely with a paddle brush. Do not use any styling product.

Step 10 – Passing the flat iron

Unamy Control lets you achieve two results: slightly relaxed curls with the Smooth service; completely relaxed hair with the Straight service.

The two services differ in the number of flat iron passes, as described on the following page.

Start from the nape and run the flat iron over each section of hair for the number of times shown in the table on the following page. The sections should be very narrow, transparent (no more than 0.5 cm wide).
