PRO TIP: FOR BEST RESULTS, PRE-LIGHTEN TO A LEVEL 10. PRE-TONING MAY ALSO BE NECESSARY DEPENDING ON THE STARTING LEVEL/CANVAS.
1. Prep by lightening hair to a level 10 and pre-tone to remove unwanted yellow tones.
2. Part hair in the middle. Start creating sections two inches from the front hairline, moving down from ear to ear, parallel to the front hairline. Apply Formula 1 (refer to diagram).
3. Behind the colored portion, create a 1-inch subsection, working off the part from ear to ear, moving backwards on a slight diagonal while remaining parallel with the front hairline. Apply
Formula 3 (refer to diagram).
4. Repeat step 3 and apply Formula 4.
5. Repeat step 3; include the hair behind the ear (refer to diagram). Apply Formula 5.
6. Continue the same sectioning pattern throughout entire head.
CANVAS LEVEL 10
7. To prep clip-in extensions, repeat step 1. Once prepped, apply Formula 2.
*Please note that the model is wearing clip-in extensions. If clip-ins are not needed, repeat the same sectioning pattern as step 3 and apply Formula 2.
8. Process for 30 minutes.
9. Rinse with cool/tepid water and style as desired.

Colorways Gray 1.
Part the hair into 4 quadrants.
Section out a triangle from the front right quadrant; the point of the triangle is at the crown and the widest part at the front hairline.





















Apply Apricot Crush to all other hair.








Section out another triangle in the back left quadrant; the point of the triangle is at the crown and widest part at the bottom hairline.
Starting with Mauve to Colorways Gray, apply color to each of the triangles.

Process for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water, no need to shampoo.

TECHNIQUE STEPS



For best results, prep hair with the Charcoal Clay Cleanse and Porosity Equalizer for optimal color uptake.
Start by creating a middle part approximately 3 inches from
At the front, take a 1-inch-wide section parallel to the front hairline. Apply Formula 1 from roots to ends.
Take a 1-inch-wide section from the middle part, all the way around the head shape. Apply Formula 2 from roots to ends.
Take a 1-inch-wide section from the center, adjacent to the middle of the ear. Apply Formula 3 from roots to ends.
Move to the back of head, where the Step 2 section ends. Create a section just above the nape and continue to the opposite side. Apply Formula 4 from roots to ends.
Begin where Step 4 ends, starting with a 1-inch-wide section along the back of the head and ending on the opposite side. Apply formula 5 from roots to ends.
For any remaining uncolored hair, apply Formula 4 to the roots and feather down to the mid-shaft. Then, melt Formula 1 from mid-shaft to ends.
Process for 30 Minutes.
Rinse with cool water and cleanse with Paul Mitchell Color Protect Post Color Shampoo, followed by a favorite conditioner. PRO TIP: Be sure to thoroughly shampoo Colorways Bold shades to avoid bleeding or transfer.
Towel dry, then finish and style as desired.
