Salina Crossroads Marathon . .November

Leadership Salina is a program that hopes to inspire citizens to engage more, care more and risk more on behalf of the Salina Community. The program educates participants on how to do that more effectively and connects people to create strong networks oriented toward improving the Salina Community.

The 2022 Leadership Salina class began their journey on August 11th, 2022 at Webster Conference Center in Salina and since then have met at least every other week. We have been blessed with so many businesses/locations offering to host their facility for one of the sessions. The hosts for the 2022 program have been/or soon will be Webster Conference Center, Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Annex, The Art Center Warehouse, Salina Area Technical College, The Garage, USD 305 District Office and Vortex Global. The class also had the opportunity to spend a full day at Kansas Learning Center (KLC) in Wichita to learn, network and bond.

The 2022 Leadership Salina class has 29 participants which are facilitated by Amanda Michaelis Littell. Through Amanda’s expertise and training, she has coached the class instructing the class in Leadership skills of Diagnosing Situations, Managing Self and Intervening Skillfully.

Along with class time, the class has had the opportunities to take many tours throughout our community, as well as providing the chance to learn more about Salina through “homework” assignments – which include involvement in a variety of attractions that Salina has to offer.

Group projects have also been a highlight of the Leadership Salina course. The class is divided into small groups and provided the opportunity to use their leadership skills and the Strategic Doing strategies for the direct betterment of the community through their chosen group projects.

Graduation for the 2022 Leadership Salina class is scheduled for Thursday, November 17th where the class will celebrate their accomplishments.
