God’s Presence Be not disheartened about happenings today; Bring the sorrow or joy, or hurt or what may; The Father is watching from His Home above; He permits each moment to come with His love. So when your heart aches, and you feel some despair, Remember, the Father is always right there. He never shall leave you alone in your plight But constantly stands guard through the day or the night. Louise Lee Winchip

We Shall Not Want When we delight in serving God Our limitations cease; And once we’ve earned His confidence, With pride our works increase. And all the more we trust His plan, And will do our share; Still greater tasks are we assigned, And strength the same to bear. When we commit our thoughts to Him, What privilege we are shown; With coffers flowing to the brim, We hear proclaimed our own. And all the more God-centered lives We find ourselves attain, A richer measure of His wealth So proves to be our gain. Don Beckman

Commit your way to the Lord; trust that God will act. Psalm 37:5

I’ll Take Time I’ll take time, not just to look but to see The beautiful world all around, Time not just to hear, but to listen To joyous, harmonious sounds. I’ll take time to plant my garden, And to tend it with loving care… To express my appreciation For the miracles that I share. I’ll take time to write, to keep in touch, To love more, to lead not to push, To teach, not just tell… to guide, not force, To be patient, not pressure or rush. I’ll take time to learn and absorb The facts, then I’ll take time to try To understand, not just to know, To consider the reason why, I’ll take time to express forgiveness, To encourage, to show I care… Time to seek God’s guidance for my life, Not merely recite a prayer. I’ll take time to learn God’s purpose, Time not just to receive but to give… To express my innate creativity. Time, not just to exist, but to live! Micky Meyer Mathewson

Sharing Don’t lock love too deeply down Within your heart for there, It cannot surface to abound And float throughout the air To raise the hearts of others Who need to know and grow, The seedling of unending love, To help the world to flow With peace and understanding Of where we all should be – Open then your heart-filled love For all mankind to see. Ruthmarie Brooks Silver

Life’s Sunrise and Sunset Have you ever watched the sunrise As it rose in the eastern sky, How it slowly leaves the horizon And a new day dawns on high? Have you ever been amazed by its beauty When the sun sets in the western sky, How it leaves behind an array of color And recedes from its watchful eye? Now darkness is soon to follow, ’Tis the final hours of the day; When compared to the span of our lifetime, We’ll liken our days this way. So we must live each day to the fullest, And to God be faithful and true; From the time of our life’s sunrise Until life’s sunset is due. Hazel Yoho 11

When I Need the Savior When I need the Savior – In prayer I humbly bow and with patience wait To feel His presence near me, Knowing He’ll arrive not too soon or late. Jesus said to cast our burdens On Him for His yoke is light. He, too, experienced taste of sorrows And many a tangled plight. Lean upon the Savior’s breast – He’ll comfort, sustain and give you rest; Jesus will steer your weary soul to safety For He always knows what’s best.
