Salesian College Sixth Form – The Next Steps – For entry September 2026
Thank you for considering Salesian College Sixth Form as the next step in your educational journey. We know that moving on to Sixth Form is an exciting opportunity, and our dedicated Sixth Form and Admissions Teams are committed to supporting you through this experience.
Open Events
We welcome Year 10 students and their families to a whole College Open Morning on Saturday 10 May, from 9.15am12.30pm. This event is your opportunity to familiarise yourself with the College, meet our students and staff, and find out more about moving on to our Sixth Form.
On Wednesday 8 October, from 7:00pm –9:00pm, we invite all Year 11 students to come to our Sixth Form Open Evening. This event will provide you with much more specific information to help you decide the direction of your Sixth Form journey. The evening includes presentations, tours and the opportunity to discuss subject options with students and staff.
Taster Days
Registration

In addition, all students must complete a Sixth Form Application Form outlining their subject choices, a personal statement and Higher Education/Career Aspirations. https://www.salesiancollege.com/sixth-form/admissions
The deadline for submission for entry in September 2026 is Friday 28 November 2025.
Year 11 students are encouraged to come and experience a Taster Day in October at the College. During this event, you will experience a carousel of lessons, have the opportunity to participate in sports activities and sample lunch in our refectory.

Informal Interview
All internal Year 11 students will have an initial interview with the Headmaster in the Autumn Term.
All external applicants, and their families, will be invited to meet the Headteacher and members of the Sixth Form Leadership team for a tour and informal discussion about our Sixth Form provision.
Formal Interview
All applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the Headmaster or Deputy Headteachers during January 2026.
Reference from current school
For external applicants we will request a confidential reference from the Headteacher of your current school before the Offer Letter is distributed.
Ongoing Support
Please feel free to come and discuss your offer with us, to enable us to support you in the decision-making process.
Offer Letter
We will distribute Offer Letters before the February Half term to all successful applicants. We will request that all offers are accepted before the Easter holidays.
Careers & Networking Events
We offer a number of Alumni led networking opportunities to help open up your future opportunities.
Offer Holder
Welcome Evening
All students who receive an offer to join Salesian College Sixth Form will be invited to a welcome evening before the Easter holidays.
Induction Day
Prospective Sixth Form students will be invited to attend an Induction Day after GCSEs in June, where they can meet all of the other students planning to continue their educational journey at Salesian College.
Scholarships
Up to eight scholarships are awarded for entry to the Sixth Form. These are available under three categories:
• Salesian Ethos Scholarships
• Outstanding Ability Scholarships
• Academic Excellence Scholarships
Each individual scholarship is for a reduction in fees of £1,500 annually for each of the two years of Sixth Form study subject to satisfactory performance and review at the end of the Lower Sixth. For details about our Scholarships, please
