Salesian College Sixth Form – The Next Steps – For entry September 2024 Thank you for considering Salesian College Sixth Form as the next step in your educational journey. We know that moving on to Sixth Form is an exciting opportunity, and our dedicated Sixth Form and Admissions Teams are committed to supporting you through this experience.

Reference from current school

Offer Letter We will distribute offer letters on Wednesday 8 February 2024 to all candidates. We request that all offers are accepted by 31 March 2024

On Wednesday October 4, from 7:00pm – 9:00pm, we invite all Year 11 students to come to our Sixth Form Open Evening. This event will provide you with much more specific information to help you decide the direction of your Sixth Form journey. The evening includes presentations, tours and the opportunity to discuss subject options with students and staff.

Taster Days Year 10 students are encouraged to come and experience a ‘taster day’ at the College on either 22/23 May 2023. During this event you will experience a carousel of lessons, the opportunity to participate in sports activities and sample lunch in our refectory. Please book your place via our {website}.

Offer Holder Welcome Evening

Ongoing Support Please feel free to come and discuss your offer with us, to enable us to support you in the decision-making process.

Open Events We welcome all potential students and their families to a whole College Open Morning on Saturday 13 May, from 9.15am12.30pm. This event is your opportunity to familiarise yourself with the College, meet our students and staff, and find out more about moving on to our Sixth Form.

We will request a confidential reference from the Headteacher of your current school before the Offer Letter is distributed.

All students who receive an offer to join Salesian College Sixth Form will be invited to a welcome evening on Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Registration All external students are required to register for our Sixth Form. The registration form can be completed on our website https://www.salesiancollege.com/ admissions/7-11-online-registration.

In addition, all students must complete an online {Sixth Form Application Form} outlining their subject choices, a personal statement and Higher Education/Career Aspirations.

The deadline for submission for entry in September 2024 is Thursday 30 November 2023.

Informal Interview You and your family, will be invited to meet the Headteacher and members of the Sixth Form Leadership team for a tour and informal discussion about our Sixth Form provision.

Induction Day Prospective Sixth Form students will be invited to attend an Induction Day on Wednesday 26 June 2024, where they can meet all of the other student’s planning to continue their educational journey at Salesian College.

Scholarships Up to eight scholarships are awarded for entry to the Sixth Form. These are available under three categories:

• Salesian Ethos Scholarships • Outstanding Ability Scholarships • Academic Excellence Scholarships

Each individual scholarship is for a reduction in fees of £1,500 annually for each of the two years of Sixth Form study subject to satisfactory performance and review at the end of the Lower Sixth.
