Named as Australian Coach earlier this year, Gary Willis has dedicated his career to the sport he loves, reaching the highest level as both a player and a coach over several decades. “I am very honoured to be named as a Henselite Ambassador, a company and brand that is so well known and so highly regarded throughout the lawn bowling world”, said Gary. “My first game of bowls as a 12 year old was with a set of Henselite Super Grips and my very first game representing Australia was with Henselite ABT-2000s”. Gary first represented the national team in 2000 and competed in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester. Following his international playing career, he progressed to coaching where he took the helm of NSW women’s state team, men’s state time and guided the Sydney Lions to their first victory in the BPL. He has coached in various roles at the National Level since 2012 including Assistant coach – a role currently occupied by Henselite team-mate, Karen Murphy – and became well recognised as one of the best tacticians and mentors in the country, being twice awarded National Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2020.

“I am extremely proud to be able to represent Henselite once again. Australian Owned and Made is extremely important to me and I am very excited to be associated and working with Ian, Thomas and the Henselite Team ”

Henselite Managing Director, Ian Paterson, welcomed Gary on board saying “Gary has been a great ambassador and advocate for the sport of bowls over his time as a player and a coach.” “We have shared values and vision and we all want to see the sport progress. We are looking forward to working with Gary and promoting everything that the sport of bowls and Henselite have to offer.” Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist, Aaron Wilson, extended the welcome to Gary saying 'It's wonderful to see Gary Willis come across to Henselite. A great genuine bloke with so much experience in the game. He is an outstanding coach and mentor with playing skills to match. He'll be a great addition to the Henselite fraternity."

Welcome to Team Henselite, Gary Willis.

Dear Readers

Leaving a gift in Will is one of the most powerful things any person can do to support the causes they care about. That’s why I have spent the past seven years in the sector, talking to people across Australia to find out what their passion is and see if I can help them make it part of their legacy. Most people I talk to don’t know how much of an incredible difference just 1% of their Estate can make. That’s why I’m reaching out to you today. Kind regards,

Why leave a gift in your Will?

Leaving a legacy is a considered and thoughtful gift. Some look at it as a reflection of who they were or who they would like to be remembered as. It’s a way of still being part of making the world a better place for all who share it. And there’s a way to make this legacy as powerful as possible, while still making sure your loved ones are taken care of. All it takes is 1% of your Estate left to a charity. That means 99% of your Estate will be passed down to the people you love, while 1% can go to a cause you love.
