Junior School Bulletin Issue 10 / 25 July 2014
From the Head of Junior School
who participated and did their very best. Congratulations to the age group champions on your achievements, we are proud of your efforts. Thank you to the parents and visitors who came and supported the day. It was great seeing you there.
Welcome Back Welcome back to Term 3 and we hope that your mid-year break was both relaxing and rewarding. The students have started the term well and have settled back into a good routine already. Staffing During the holidays, Ms Susan Ridley (Prep 2) was offered and accepted a job in Tasmania. We are excited for Susan as she begins a new venture in her life but sad to see a much loved and experienced teacher leave our community. We welcome Mrs Bronwyn Waters to our teaching staff. Mrs Bronwyn Waters has been appointed the inaugural Director of the Early Learning Centre. She comes to St Andrews with 22 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. During this time she has worked in a variety of settings, including two extended periods as a Director of Early Learning Centres. Bronwyn also has experience as an Educator developing the next generation of Early Childhood Educators, which will help to ensure that the Staff employed in our Centre will continue to grow and develop. Parents of children attending the ELC can be confident that their child is in the very best of hands. TSA and Pedestrian Crossing Thank you to the Traffic Safety Attendants who volunteer their time to help your children get to the car safely. The one small benefit they get is a reserved car park so that they can do their job. Please make sure these parks are kept vacant for our Traffic Safety Attendants. Please be extra vigilant when driving in and around the College and keep the speed of your car down to 15 kmh. The same rules for use of the pedestrian crossing apply at school as they do in public unless a traffic attendant is controlling the area. We all want our children to get home safely and we thank you for helping by slowing down. Athletics Carnival A great amount of sportsmanship, personal bests and support for their teams were displayed at the annual athletics carnival last Friday. Even though the students nearly blew away in the strong winds, they still managed to have a lot of fun. Congratulations to Binging on winning the trophy but more importantly congratulations to all of the students
