What’s New at the Fete Event Cinema BBQ: This stall is a new one this year as Event Cinemas at Robina have kindly donated their promotions coffee and popcorn van which comes already staffed. They also have a BBQ attached to this which we are hoping to cook sausages and hamburgers on. Most of the ingredients have already been sourced we just need someone to ensure that it runs smoothly on the day. Please contact Julie Catherwood 0405 533 725 if you see this as an opportunity for you to support your child’s College Fete.

Raffle As you know we will be holding a major raffle. We have been fortunate enough to already have 5 nights in a 2 bedroom apartment at Turtle Beach donated by the West family and $1000 in flight vouchers donated

by Flight Centre Robina. There is still room for another prize if you have a business and you would be interested in donating a prize for our major raffle or even the cent auction, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Liz Hanlon on 0498 945 021.

Rides Ride tickets for the Fete will go on sale online on the 22nd April 2013.

There are new rides to look forward to trying out: 1. Bumper balls 2. Storm 3. Trackless train And the old favourites are back – dodgem cars and Miami trip.

Food We still need • someone to run the Souvlaki Stall • 3 x BBQ’s for Fete day. Can you lend your BBQ ?

• Donations of Rice for our Thai food stall.

Entertainment We are very excited for this year’s entertainment program which is set to showcase some of the amazing talent our students possess including a sneak peak of our upcoming Junior School musical ‘Suessical’, we also look forward once again hearing the sweet sounds of Matt Stokes on stage.

Chocolate Donations Wanted!!!

One of the most successful and popular stalls on the Fete is the chocolate bed. This stall needs chocolate and heaps of it! Please keep your eyes peeled for the supermarket specials and add chocolate to your shopping list (especially when the after Easter chocolate goes on sale). Bars, small slabs, eggs, Freddo Frogs, you name it and we need it.

You can donate your chocolate to Jane (0433 792 656) or Jolien (0466 343 933): 1. in the bus shelter Tuesday or Thursday morning from 7.45-8.30am or 2. P&F office (next to uniform shop) Wednesday morning from 7.45- 8.30am Donations for the following items listed below will be accepted on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s between 8am and 9am at the P & F Office, which is located next to the Uniform Shop.

Please consider donating any of the following items: • Chocolates • Books - Novels for adults and teenagers and kids – and children’s books – all great.

The Art Exhibition The theme of this year’s exhibition is “Celebration” and the categories include:

• Painting and drawing • Photography • Mixed media Clean out your cupboards and toy rooms over • Ceramic and sculpture Easter and donate all your fabulous goodies • For the Middle and to the Fete.

While you are at your favorite coffee shop, restaurant or butcher, having your car serviced or at your local vet, if you could ask if the provider if they would be willing to donate a voucher that could be used as a prize to be offered by the Fete.

Medals and prizes to be won!

You can enter as many pieces as you like. Entry fee is one work $5 and 3 or more $12.

Works will be accepted before school on Monday 20 to Wednesday 22 May 2013 in the Utilities Room (B12) Junior School.

Submission forms are available from Junior, Middle and Senior School receptions as well as the Art rooms.

The Middle/Senior Creative Writing Group is again running the Plant Stall. We would love it if anyone has any spare pots (any size will do) or potting mix, or even plants would be a great to help our stall. We can store plants A hand out will be sent home with the Junior here at the College. Or you can save them till School children after the holidays. the week before, then drop them in.

Celebrating 20 years 2013

St Andrews Lutheran College Fete Saturday 25th May, 2011 Volunteer Form The key to a successful event is helpers and we need lots of them! Below are the details of stalls that require volunteers. We are asking volunteers to work in 2 hr time slots as anything less than this makes it difficult changing over people all the time.

You will still have plenty of time to enjoy the day with your family. Please consider donating a couple of hours of your time to ensure a fun day for everyone.

It is possible that other stalls will be added to this list, therefore if you don’t mind what stall you help out with, then please put “any stall”. There are also many jobs that do not involve manning stalls. If you’d like to help out in other areas, then please put “parking and logistics”.

Please complete the attached slip and return to your class teacher as soon as possible or email to fete@salc.qld. edu.au to enable rosters to be drawn up. Your details will be passed onto the appropriate stall convener, who will then liaise with you directly. Thanks so much!
