Red Kettle Open

June 2, 2025

Diamond Hawk Golf Course

It was a beautiful day for a round of golf during The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Open, presented by Appliance Install Pros.

This year, 140 golfers took part in Doing The Most Good to help our neighbors in need, via a scramble at Diamond Hawk Golf Course. Thanks to our generous sponsors and golfers, this year’s tournament raised $48,000 to support The Salvation Army’s ongoing programs and services!

Buffalo’s Most Amazing Race

July 19, 2025

Another Amazing year for this AMAZING event, raising over funds for programs and services in Buffalo. We enjoyed a new start line and post party at Other Half Brewing, which opened up numerous challenges for our teams in the Canalside area, including Buffalo RiverWorks zip lines, kayaks, axe throwing, rock climbing at Central Rock Gym, a bike Ferry ride to the outer Harbor to do some knot tying, cardio drum dancing to YMCA to feed our inner Village People, golf simulator driving, Bollywood Indian Dance routine……and so much more.

Summer Camp: Where Kids Can Just Be Kids!

My mom said I wasn’t coming in today but I told her I have to go I can’t miss a day without my friends and its Ice cream day

–Ice Cream Day with Mr. Softy is a huge hit for the summer campers–

I took my child to another camp because my work schedule changed, and my child lasted 1 day at the other camp before she started crying for me to bring her back to the Salvation Army we will not leave again.

As Director, the highlight for me is the grand finale at camp’s end. Watching the sea of grinning parents, grandparents, and Salvation Army guests as they’re awestruck by our youth flaunting their newfound skills —from belting out tunes to busting dance moves, and chatting about colleges they discovered. This is the “aha!” moment that parents experience, realizing that The Salvation Army Summer Camp is the ultimate summer hangout for their kids, year after year!
