SEASONAL ACTIVITIES FOREST SOAKING HIKE

Sunday, September 15 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

This leisurely 2-hour hike, sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, is designed to give each participant the benefits of being in nature through a contemplative nature walk we are calling Forest Soaking.

Our experience, led by yoga instructor Cathy Norman, will take place on a fairly level path in the Salamander Resort forest.

The hike will include using all five senses, moments of silence, and will culminate with a brief experience of connecting to nature through the practice of mindful eating. Please leave phones, field glasses, and cameras behind, and bring water and a snack. Limit 15. Registration required through Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy. loudounwildlife.org

September 29 – Salamander Resort Field The Tacchino Cyclocross race will be held this year at Salamander Resort & Spa. Registration is required at: www.bikereg.com

Axe throwing is another activity that is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the resort, and after going thoroughly over several throwing techniques our guides will have the group participate in some friendly competition. Similar to archery, not only is axe throwing entertaining and unique, but can help you cultivate a skill that is useful in many survival or sporting situations.

Private instruction is offered on our seasoned lesson horses and ponies.
