Aim is to create a serene and tranquil environment for the process of cremation and remembrance. The design incorporates the peace symbol as its central element, emphasizing the concept of harmony and tranquility. Additionally, the crematorium features a domed structure that represents the element of fire, surrounded by carefully designed landscapes to enhance the overall peaceful atmosphere

The design team has thoroughly studied and understood the Nayakar community's funeral customs and rituals. Every aspect of the crematorium has been meticulously planned and executed to align with their cultural and spiritual traditions. This ensures that the space not only fulfills its functional purpose but also resonates with the Nayakar community at a deep level, offering them a sense of comfort and connection during a significant phase of life.

Concept Developement

• ORIENTATION: The crematorium is arranged in the shape of a peace symbol (also known as the "peace sign"), which is universally recognized as a symbol of harmony and unity. The layout of the facility follows the outline of the peace symbol, with three curved arms radiating from a central point.

• DOME DEPICTING FIRE: There is a dome-shaped structure that represents the element of fire. The dome is designed to evoke a sense of reverence and spirituality. It is constructed using materials that can withstand high temperatures and is adorned with artistic elements depicting flames and embers. The dome serves as the focal point of the crematorium, symbolizing the transformation and release of the departed souls.

• LANDSCAPED SURROUNDINGS: The crematorium is situated within carefully planned and maintained landscapes, offering a tranquil and peaceful environment for visitors. The surrounding areas are adorned with elements such as flowing water features, Zen gardens, and gentle pathways, encouraging contemplation and reflection. Lush greenery and strategically placed trees provide a sense of natural serenity, creating a harmonious atmosphere.

• Architectural Elements: The design of the crematorium incorporates architectural elements that complement the overall concept. The buildings within the facility feature curved lines and gentle slopes to maintain the flow and harmony of the peace symbol. Natural light is maximized through large windows and skylights, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Thoughtful interior design elements, such as calming colors and soft lighting, contribute to a sense of tranquility and solace.
