FUND REPORT

MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDATION

BOARD

CHAIR

It is with deep gratitude and great pride that we present to you this year’s Endowment Report for the St. George’s School Foundation. Your generosity and support for the Endowment Fund have made it possible for us to continue advancing our mission of providing transformative educational opportunities to students who need them most.

Over the past year, your contributions have made a significant difference as we continue our renewed focus on growing the Endowment Fund. Behind the scenes, we aim to provide the highest level of governance and stewardship for the Endowment Fund through the efforts and diligence of our Investment Committee, which works with our selected thirdparty fund managers.

The Endowment Fund is an essential part of allowing us to achieve our goals of expanding access to quality learning resources, supporting educators and empowering young minds to dream bigger and aim higher. Your contributions and support are a valued recognition of the trust you have placed in our work and the shared vision we hold for our students. This report highlights not only the impact of your support, but also the stories of those whose lives have been changed because of it. As you read through these pages, I hope you feel the profound difference you are making in our community.

On behalf of our board, staff, educators, students, and families, we would like to extend our gratitude. Together, we are supporting brighter futures by building fine young men, one boy at a time.

With sincere appreciation,

OVERVIEW

As we strive toward our vision of building young men who are impact makers and agile partners who strive to do good and positively shape our future, it is more important than ever to identify and support the most talented students from British Columbia, across Canada, and around the world. While many of these students demonstrate exceptional promise, not all have the financial means to attend St. George’s School.

Our Endowment Funds make it possible for these deserving students to access a world-class education, ensuring that financial circumstances are never a barrier to a boy’s potential.

The School’s Endowment Funds are managed by the St. George’s School Foundation, a registered charitable organization and public foundation under the Canadian Income Tax Act. The Foundation’s mission is to advance education by supporting scholarships and bursaries, academic and athletic facilities, and capital projects that enhance the experience of all boys at St. George’s School.

With careful stewardship, the Foundation ensures that this support continues in perpetuity. As of June 30, 2025, the total market value of all invested endowment funds was $44,150,183, an increase of $6,849,602 over the previous year. New gifts to named and general endowments totalled $3,098,608

This growth is essential, as the demand for financial support continues to increase. In the 2024–25 academic year:

• 87 students received financial aid totalling $1,509,820 from the School and Foundation Endowments.

• An additional $329,514 supported students through various scholarships.

• $206,910 was awarded to new students through entrance scholarships. These achievements are only possible because of the visionary and sustained generosity of our donors. We remain deeply committed to ensuring that a family’s financial capacity does not limit a deserving boy’s ability to attend St. George’s School. Every contribution to the Endowment Fund is an investment in our students, in opportunity, and in the enduring excellence of our School.

USES OF ENDOWMENT INCOME & IMPACT

Thanks to your generosity, income from our Endowment Funds continues to make a profound and measurable difference across our community. Key areas of impact include:

• Financial Aid For Students:

A significant portion of endowment income ensures that talented students, regardless of financial circumstance, can access a St. George’s education through full and partial bursaries.

• Entrance Scholarships:

Endowment-supported entrance scholarships attract exceptional students who enrich our School community with their academic excellence, curiosity, and promise.

• Leadership & Achievement Awards: Scholarships recognizing leadership, character, and personal accomplishment encourage students to strive for excellence and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

• Support For Athletics:

Endowment funding enhances athletic programs by supporting expert coaching, development clinics, team travel, and training opportunities across varsity and recreational sports.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

To maintain confidentiality, all student names have been changed.

“The financial assistance we have received has been life-changing. For Michael, it has shaped his character, instilling a sense of gratitude and a drive to contribute to the St. George’s community. He cherishes every moment at Saints, from his academic pursuits to his extracurricular endeavours, and he strives to give back as a way of honouring the opportunities he has been given.

For our family, this support has been a beacon of hope during a challenging period. It has allowed us to provide Michael with an education that fosters not only academic excellence but also character development and community engagement. Your generosity has alleviated the financial strain on our family, enabling us to focus on supporting Michael’s journey.

From the depths of my heart, thank you for your kindness, your vision, and your belief in students like Michael. Your generosity empowers families like ours and transforms lives in immeasurable ways.”

MICHAEL’S PARENTS

“This past year has been a transformative one for Nathan, as he recently started Grade 8. He has truly thrived in the vibrant and supportive environment that St. George’s provides. We’ve seen him grow immensely, not just academically, but also in character and confidence. Nathan has become more self-assured, disciplined, and motivated to set and achieve goals. His experiences at St. George’s have opened his eyes to new possibilities and instilled in him a sense of responsibility and determination to succeed.

For our family, the financial assistance has been more than just support — it has been a gift that enables Nathan to access opportunities that might not have been possible otherwise. Knowing that he is surrounded by inspiring mentors and peers, and that he is part of a community that believes in his potential, fills us with hope and gratitude every day.

Your kindness and support make all of this possible. We deeply appreciate your investment in Nathan’s education and future, and we hope you know the profound difference you are making in the lives of so many families like ours.”
