From the Dugout With Manager Cameron Mawer
Firstly, a warm welcome to everyone ahead of our game against Moulton. Their isn’t a better place at this level then the Premier Plus Stadium under the lights. We come into this one off the back of another important 2–1 win. It was another performance that showed the character and togetherness within this group. We had to work hard for the result, but we found a way to get the job done and take another positive step forward. The crowd was amazing and deserves a special mention. The support we got made a genuine difference. The players felt it on the pitch and, as a management team, we really appreciate everyone who came through the gate and gets behind us. We want to keep giving you performances that make you want to come back and support this group. Our attention now turns completely to Moulton. We know they’re a good side who have been scoring plenty of goals and picking up some strong results. It will be another tough test. They have some very good personal in their ranks and will give us real problems and are unbeaten since 15th August. We’re not paying attention to the league table at this stage. Our approach is simply game by game. We prepare properly for the next opponent, concentrate on our own standards and try to keep improving every time we step onto the pitch. Finally, a huge welcome to Freddie, who has joined the club and will be working on the media side. It’s a really exciting addition for us and Freddie will be a massive asset as we continue to improve and move the club forward both on and off the pitch. Thank you again for your continued support. Let’s keep building together.

Welcome to Freddie to the St Neots Town FC media team!
Club History St Neots Town Football Club, nicknamed ‘The Saints’ - St Neots Town was formed in 1879, simply as ‘St Neots’. Operating as an amateur side in its early years, the club tasted its first major success by becoming the inaugural winners of the Huntingdonshire Senior Cup in the 1888-89 season. They dominated local cup competitions around the turn of the century while playing in the Biggleswade & District League.
The club went through a couple of early name changes, becoming St Neots & District in 1924, and joining the Bedfordshire & District League (later the South Midlands League), which they won in 1932- 33. They made their first foray into the United Counties League (UCL) in 1936 before the outbreak of World War II disrupted regional football. Post-War Eras and Name Changes (1950-1988) In 1949, the club became founder members of the Metropolitan League, winning a league and cup double in their very first season. They officially settled on the name St Neots Town F.C. in 1951. The late 1960s marked one of the most successful eras for the club:
•
FA Cup Run (1966-67): The Saints enjoyed their best-ever run in the FA Cup, reaching the First Round Proper, where they put up a valiant effort before falling 2-0 away to Walsall.
•
The Record Streak: By 1969, the club won the Huntingdonshire Senior Cup for a staggering 12th consecutive season, setting a historic record for senior cup wins in England.
•
League Double (1967-68): They rejoined the UCL and quickly claimed the Premier Division title and League Knockout Cup double.
However, the late 1980s brought severe hardship. In 1987, the owner of their long-term Shortsands Yard home sold the ground to developers. Forced to play on a borrowed works pitch and drowning in outstanding debt, the club was forced to completely disband in 1988. Reformation and Modern Era (1990-Present) The club’s absence from football lasted only two seasons. In 1990, local investors stepped in to reform St Neots Town FC. Starting from scratch in the Huntingdonshire Junior League and playing on communal council pitches at Priory Park, the team won four consecutive titles to earn readmission into the UCL senior divisions by 1994. The club climbed back up the non-league ladder, moving into their modern Rowley Park stadium in 2008. To signal their high ambitions, they even appointed former Northern Ireland internationals Steve Lomas and Michael Hughes to their management team in 2009, alongside former Fulham midfielder Sylvain Legwinski. This ambition paid off with a dominant 2010- 11 season, breaking multiple league records en-route to winning the UCL Premier Division and initiating a rise through the Southern League systems. Following their championship campaign in the United Counties League Premier Division South, The Saints continue their journey up the English football pyramid. Cameron Mawer was appointed First Team manager in May 2023 in first season suffered heartache in league play-off in UCL North Premier, to achieve promotion following season as champions, the progression back to step 4 & the Northern Premier League, Saints stay was short and were relegated back to UCL Premier South for upcoming season.
In the Chair With Chairman Barry Cavilla
Good Evening and welcome to the first of several midweek games coming up in a busy October for Saints. This Evening we welcome all the Players, officials and supporters of Moulton FC for our first league encounter between both sides. Moulton have made an excellent start to their season and have made a Big impact so far and will be a tough challenge for the Saints tonight and Cameron and the lads will have to put in another big performance like Saturdays hard fought victory over a very competitive Coventry Sphinx team. This I am sure will give Cameron and the lads a lot of confidence going into a busy October of football with both league and cup games ahead there is lots to play for and still keep in touch with the leading pack and fight to keep alive their Cup aspirations too.
So with your tremendous support and backing as always let’s turn up tonight and give the boys a Big boost to keep them moving onwards and upwards and as a club together.
Best wishes
Barry
Club Kit Supplier
Story behind New kit The journey behind this season’s NEW kit started back early October when the club reached out to Sean Pankhurst Founder / Owner / Designer of Teamex Sportwear. From initial discussions Sean presented a number of kit concepts which showed strong links to our history and to the town which really impressed us. Hopefully you’ve seen the kit release on social media and massive thanks need to go to our First Team Sponsor Amplified—if you’ve seen it I hope you agree its brilliant.
The Home Kit is celebrating the 60 years on from the clubs best FA Cup run when the 1966 team reached the 1st round proper against Walsall FC –losing 2-0. A great achievement and it was fantastic to have Terry Reedman come down & support the filming of kit release and listen to his stories of that season and his time with St Neots Town FC. Also included in shirt design is map of TOWN.
The Away Kit a return to tradition away shirt colours & is celebrating St Neots Town unique connection between the CLUB and the TOWN—the shirt design includes a plan view of the 4 lanterns in St Neots market square. Also included in ALL the shirt designs is the ribbon from the St Neots sign.
The WARM UP shirt we hope will be a fan favourite, again link reference in the club crest to River Ouse Limited Number of shirt & sizes available via club shop hut & orders can be place via Teamex Sportswear use this link.

OPPONENTS SPOTLIGHT MOULTON (the magpies) Year founded: 1896 Club Website: www.moultonfc.co.uk GOOD EVENING AND A WARM WELCOME TO MOULTON FC FOR THEIR FIRST VISIT TO ST NEOTS TOWN This is the second season at this level for our visitors who despite their longevity as a football club took around 130 years to reach this level. They boast one of the best facilities at this level with a modern 3G pitch and a reputation for hospitality second to none in the UCL. After last season’s heroics when they finished eighth in their first season at this level, they have found the going challenging this season, but are currently ninth in the league table, two places behind our lads. Their three league defeats so far have come against ON Chenecks, Rugby Town and Lutterworth – two of whom are above then in the league table, and in their last eight league and cup matches (prior to last weekend) they had won six and drawn two in league and cup outings. Last weekend they hosted FC Stratford one of the newcomers to the league this season who had only two wins in their first nine league matches. Next weekend (like our lads) Moulton are engaged in the FA Vase when they entertain FC Bridgenorth who play in Division One South of the North West Counties League and are third with only one defeat in none league matches. In the last round Moulton defeated New Bradwell St Peter away from home. Moulton are of course the proud holders of the Sportsground Development UCL Cup having defeated Champions Nuneaton Town in the Cup Final last season. In this season’s competition they received a Preliminary Round bye and face Northampton Sileby Rangers at home on 15th October. Previous meetings of our teams: none
RECENT HISTORY – MOULTON FC Moulton were formed in 1896, playing their first game against the village of Old, resulting in a 2–2 draw. In 2004, the club won the Northamptonshire Combination Premier Division, finishing runners up in 2005 and 2006. In 2022, the club was admitted into the Spartan South Midlands League Division One. At the end of the 2024/25 Season, Moulton finished 3rd and were promoted to the Premier Division South of the United Counties League, via the play offs. Last season they made their debut at Step Five after their play-off promotion and they finished a very creditable eighth ahead of such experienced sides as Newport Pagnell and Eynesbury Rovers. This season they have recorded a mixed bag of results, winning three, losing three, and drawing two of their first eight league matches. Ground The club currently play at Brunting Road, Moulton. In 2018, a 3G pitch and a 200-seater stand was installed at the ground.

Another in a series of historical records looking back at our fortunes in a past season (both good and bad!)
ST NEOTS TOWN FC 1981/82 SEASON This is the another in the series of records highlighting one of our final seasons at Shortsands to depict both the highs and the lows in the recent proud history of the Club. Some supporters were very critical about last season and our relegation from the Southern League Premier Division, but this record puts last season in the shade!

At home we did not win a league match and drew just five times. We failed to score in 13 of our 18 home matches and six of the away ones.
The highlight of the league season were our two away victories at Long Buckby (2-1) and perhaps famously at Stevenage Borough (4-3) when we came back from 3-1 down! Steve White scored our only cup goal and was second highest scorer with three goals. Leading scorer was Ian Reed (4 goals).
Our worst season for goal scoring in more than half a century. Three Managers tried to ‘right the ship’ that season (and all failed!) Terry Reedman 2 months, Roger Campbell 2 months and Graham Scarff 5 months

FA CUP SECOND QUALIFYING ROUND St Neots Town
4
Romulus
3
It was akin to the script for ‘The Great Escape’. St Neots 3-0 down after 17 minutes against visiting Romulus who ply their trade at Step Five – two below their hosts – but who have a good record with three victories in the competition this season. At that stage St Neots looked to have let the £9,000 sponsorship prize for victory slip through their fingers with a shoddy defensive start to the match. They recovered to pull a goal back before the break but left it mighty late to snatch a dramatic winning goal three minutes into added time. So, they will now feature in the third round qualifying of the FA Cup for the first time in 40 years. It was a performance of great character considering that six of their squad were unavailable due to a mixture of cup tying, injury and suspension and they lined up with four fresh faces from their previous match with Harry Reynolds, Taylor Parr, Harry O’Malley and Devante Stanley replacing Finley Iron, Dan Olaniran, Jack Worman and Dylan Williams. For Parr it was a memorable 100th senior start for St Neots but he had to play second fiddle to man-of-the-match Dion Sembie-Ferris whose extravagant shirt shedding winning goal celebrations earned him a caution from the Referee. The least said about the first seventeen minutes of the match the better from St Neots’ perspective. The visitors took the game straight to them and in the first meaningful attack after two minutes, Dimitri Dunkley crossed to find Mitch Piggon wide on the left and he moved smoothly inside Matt Miles’ despairing challenge to find the back of the net. It was then a story of poor defending for five minutes later from a teasing Kris Taylor corner Mitch Piggon rose unmarked at the near post to glance the ball into the net. That was bad but ten minutes after the second goal another Taylor corner – this time to the far post was headed firmly past Harry Reynolds by Luke Richards to install a 3-0 lead for the visitors. Just before that third goal Reynolds had saved at full stretch from Josh Willis to present Romulus with their corner and during this spell St Neots had managed just one shot on goal at the other end with Claudio Ofosu’s effort sailing harmlessly wide. Three minutes after the third Romulus goal, St Neots dragged themselves back into the match when Tom Wood headed home a Miles corner – his first league goal since February – and that seemed to regenerate his side. From that point on St Neots largely dominated possession with Sembie-Ferris unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when nudged off the ball by the visiting keeper, and then the same player struck a post with a rasping shot following another Miles corner. Harry O’Malley shot wide and Devante Stanley making his senior debut twice tested Tyrrell Belford – his second effort bringing the save of the match from the visiting keeper. The second half saw more St Neots domination, but chances went begging. Wood fired over from a lengthy Johnny Herd throw, Nabil Shariff had a close-range header deflected over the bar, Ofosu squandered a chance firing wide and a Sembie-Ferris effort was smothered. With twenty minutes left St Neots sent on Dan Olaniran and reorganized with just three at the back but chances were hard to come by with the visiting defence well marshalled by Obaro Edobor and Kris Taylor. Romulus might have reinstated a three-goal lead after 75 minutes when a 45 yards lob from Taylor Allen almost caught Reynolds off his line, but he recovered to push it away and three minutes later Dion Sembie-Ferris got on the end of a Johnny Herd through ball to reduce the deficit. With five minutes left skipper Johnny Herd was again the inspiration as he got on the end of a Miles cross to level at 3-3 and then in that grandstand finish three minutes into injury time Shariff went past two defenders to pick out Dion Sembie-Ferris on the far post and his finish was clinical to sent St Neots into the next round. St Neots: Reynolds, Miles, Herd, O’Malley, Wood, Parr, Sembie-Ferris, Peters, Shariff, Stanley, Ofosu Subs: Douglas (for Peters 62 mins), Olaniran (for Ofosu 70 mins), and Hudson. Cards: Sembie-Ferris (Y – 90+3 mins) Goals: Sembie-Ferris 2 (78 & 90+3 mins), Wood (20 mins), Herd (85 mins) Romulus: Belford, Cross, Rowe, Edobor, Taylor, Willis, Dunkley, Richards, Piggon, Tweed, Hurst Subs: Collins (for Dunkley 60 mins), Allen (for Hurst 71 mins), Hague (for Richards 74 mins), Spink, Rolston, Barrow and Palmer. Central defender Harvey Henderson scored his fifth goal of the season to become his sides’ second highest scorer this time around, and his strike was the goal that ultimately secured an important victory. Despite the heroics of the previous match Manager Cameron Mawer made eight team changes to revert to the ‘regular’ line-up for this important match against the side one ahead of St Neots in the league table prior to kick-off. Visitors Coventry Sphinx had enjoyed a very successful September winning four consecutive League matches and they had won convincingly on their last trip to the Premier Plus Stadium, but they were second best on this occasion. The victory took St Neots into the play-off places, but it should have been more convincing because after an uncertain spell in the first half St Neots always looked able to dictate the pattern of play, despite their finishing sometimes lacking accuracy and confidence. St Neots were well on top in the early stages after Connor Barnes burst through in their first attack to see his shot rebound off the advancing goalkeeper. The visitors then managed one lengthy effort by Dylan Parker comfortably gathered by Ben Heath. Then after ten minutes the home side went ahead when the visiting defence failed to clear a cross from Connor Furlong and the swift thinking Magloire Muyembe nipped through a hesitating back line to register his eighth goal of the season. At this point St Neots were dominating as Furlong shot wildly over the bar, but gradually playing short passing football from defence the visiting side began to make their presence felt. Jordan Lynn had a net bound shot blocked by a defender and Jake Kerins was booked halting another attack with a late tackle. The visitors then lost the injured Jordan Lynn with Joseph Cairns substituting and Parker shot wide after a promising attack. From a long Lewis Burgess throw a Joe Sutton shot was deflected for a corner and the first half ended with the visiting keeper making a full length save to deny Barnes. St Neots returned from the break looking more confident and in the opening attack of the half Danny Baulk tested visiting keeper Carl O’Neill at his near post. Both sides deployed early second half substitutes and then Success Nidjebu shot wide from a vising side attack. Coventry Sphinx were not short of possession but too many of their attacking moves were ponderous with too many passes required to get the ball into a reasonable area for shooting at the home goal. St Neots, meantime did get forward but their final pass was often inaccurate, and they failed to take advantage of their possession. However, after 72 minutes they won a freekick great delivery by MotM Will Grocott and defender Harvey Henderson rose at the far post to head home to extend the home sides’ lead. The visitors responded with Matthew Dawson joining his attack to fire over the bar and then home keeper Ben Heath made a vital diving save to deny visiting substitute Cairns. Sphinx did pull a goal back eleven minutes from time through Dylan Parker who was then sin-binned by the Referee - not helpful to his sides’ response. Another late save by Heath helped to confirm St Neots victory which they deserved.
St Neots: Heath, Kerins, Burgess, Parker, Henderson, Grocott, Furlong, Sutton. Barnes, Muyembe, Baulk Subs: Stainsby (for Baulk 69 mins). Joseph (for Grocott 89 mins), Nickels, Robinson, and Mawer. Cards: Kerins (Y – 24 mins)
Scorers: Muyembe (10 mins), Henderson (72 mins) Coventry Sphinx: O’Neill, Dawson, Todd, Fury, Magunda, Sweenie-Rowe, Rankin, Lynn, Parker, Sandhu, Nidjebu Subs: Cairns (for Lynn 34 mins), Donaldson (for Rankin 60 mins), Ssemwogerere (for Nidjebu 68 mins), Wynne (for Sandhu 90+2 mins), and Ellis. @Rowley_StNeots
Last season was my very first as the official mascot of St Neots Town FC... and what a debut it was! I've been busy spreading smiles, cheering on the Saints and making plenty of memories. If you see me around the ground this season, don't be shy – come over and say hello!
Selfies? Absolutely! I'm always happy to pose for photos, hand out high-fives and celebrate with supporters of all ages. If you spot me around the ground, come and say hello—I promise I don't bite!
Leading Out the Future Stars One of my favourite jobs is leading our young matchday mascots onto the pitch alongside the first team. Seeing those huge smiles as they walk out in front of the crowd is something special. Get your youth team signed up this season for this great experience.
Racing for a Great Cause One of the biggest adventures of last season was competing in the Mascot Gold Cup at Wetherby Racecourse. I may not have brought home the trophy, but together we raised money for two fantastic children's charities—and that's a win in my book!
Out and About in the Community Football is about more than 90 minutes on a Saturday. I'm always looking for opportunities to visit local schools, community groups, charities and businesses to help spread the word about St Neots Town FC. If you'd like Rowley to pay you a visit, we'd love to hear from you! team signed up this season for this great experience. So, keep your eyes peeled for me around the ground this season! Come over for a high-five, a selfie or a chat - and if you're really lucky... I might even invite you onto the pitch at half-time to take a penalty against yours truly. Just don't expect me to make it easy!

County cup winning 23-0 vs a grass roots team. As good as this is it’s also important to know that the boys played properly and respectfully and did their jobs.
Saints Reserves 5 Kempston Reserves2 Really rubbish first half again being 2-1 down at the break to come back and win 5-2 shows character but also naivety. 5 different scorers, 5 very goals and 2 goals that we could do better on. David starling with another well taken low finish Alfie southern having featured for the first team he’s growing game by game Adrian Pawlina another one for Ade who keeps scoring from cb. Joe draper another good finish from Joe. Deivis Sturesteps a bag of tricks does his thing and bags. We then go away to Ely City in the TN the next night to win 4-0 much better, total control of the ball and dominating them and restricting them to a couple of visits to our half. 4 great goals Jamie keen from right back great link up play gets himself in and smashes home Lucas Nichols from a corner the ball hit him pretty much but he meant it !!! Jack Noonan made it himself chopped and cut in from the right hand side and smashed home from the edge of the box Ryan Mcculough a lovely looping volley to finish a dominant display. Away against Godmanchester on Saturday went 2-0 down with two ridiculous poor goals to concede. Great team talk from Joe and Pat sees them come out second half and win 3-2 Goals from David starling x 2 and Adrian Pawlina showing that this group has bundles of character. Now they need to show they have the intelligence to play this level and higher by being more ruthless in defending and attacking moments and not allowing teams to get into them before recovering. Rest up well lads and we again at training on Tuesday. Up the Saint
U18’s Match Report Arlesey 2 Saints 3 What an away day this was!! We did not help ourselves in the 1st minute with some sloppy play which resulted in a corner, then 10 minutes in we conceded after a number of errors - to summarise we hadn’t switch our brains on yet. Then the boys got down to business, the defence turned into monsters, the midfield found their men and we grew into the game. I started to see the patterns of our football develop and then a strong run from fullback into the final 3rd won us a free kick with 1 minute left of the first half. A great bit of game knowledge from the coach realised they put a man on the post so we crowded the box and it paid off with the knock down dropping to Yosty who made no mistake and tucked it away nicely. Game on!!
2nd half started and this was a real battle from both sides, we looked comfortable with the back 4 being front footed and meeting everything as soon as it landed, the midfield found their shape much quicker then all of sudden a great cross found them 2 v 1 and we was behind again. Now this is where it could have gone one way or the other but the lads put their chest out, stood tall and stepped in to another level. Some tenacious play through midfield with a touch of beauty about our passing allowed Tristan to whip a great ball in, Yosti knocked it back to Agey who buried it 2-2! We battled on, not giving them any time to breathe, then a great ball into the channel by William allowed Agey to do what he does, chase it down and through sheer determination he won the ball and squared to Yosti 2-3!! From here the boys really dug deep with Arlesey throwing everything at us but every single lad out there stood tall and we saw the game out and travelled home with all 3 points! We turned up with only 12 players but each one of them rose to the occasion and had each other’s backs. We as coaches could not be prouder!! The u16s - Pierce and Harry, you know how I loved your game today, you gave it all for us and are two very good players. Goals - Edward x2 Agey x1 Man of the match - Agey
