Dear Alumni and Friends, The current global health crisis caused unprecedented and sudden levels of hardship and uncertainty that will likely be felt for months, if not years to come. Social distancing necessitated the suspension of all gatherings including Hearts & Minds: The Saint Peter’s Scholarship Celebration, an evening that we have all come to look forward to each year. While we were disappointed that we had to miss this signature event which raises vital resources for our students, the health, safety and wellbeing of our entire community was, and continues to be, of paramount importance to us.

The critical aid that Hearts & Minds delivers for our students each year can never be forgone. A significant number of our undergraduates come from low-to-moderate-income households. More than 98% require financial aid and half cannot afford to contribute anything towards tuition. Most will be the first in their families to earn a college degree.

Given the current landscape, many of our students are more vulnerable than ever, navigating the rigors of education, currently in a virtual world, and the inherent health, emotional and financial challenges of the coronavirus, COVID-19 situation.

We were heartened by the many alumni, friends and corporate partners who asked how they could help our students in this unique moment. The outpouring of support that followed is a testament to the community of hope and opportunity that is Saint Peter’s University. We encourage you to view the names of this year’s supporters on page 3.

We hope and pray that you and your loved ones remain safe and healthy.
