Art in the Nave presents:

ICONS IN TRANSFORMATION August 13—October 12 Cathedral Nave Imagine our nave transformed by icons. Imagine art inspired by the emotional power and artistry of icons. Critics around the world are praising this dramatic 120 piece traveling exhibit of the contemporary work of acclaimed Russian—Swedish abstract expressionist, Ludmila Pawlowska. Also included in the installation will be Russian traditional icons from the Vassilevsky Monastery/Suzdal. After touring the great cathedrals of Europe, this must-see exhibit is now at Saint Mark’s. The works on view will also include 12 large sculptural pieces many of which will be suspended in the Cathedral providing a stunning and dramatic visual impression. Gala Opening Saturday, August 13, 7:00 p.m. Activities include speaker and artist, Ludmila Pawlowski, Russian folk-art group Juliana and PAVA, a festive reception and guided tours. Tickets available at Brown Paper Tickets or at the door. Suggested donation $20. The Gratitude Gatherings project is not over yet—we run through mid August! Spaces are still available, especially for family-friendly events. Kids—and kids at heart—are invited to run in the park, or make ice cream sundaes. Eastsiders are invited to Kelsey Creek Farm Park, or an afternoon in Maple Valley. This is our third summer of parties in parks and parishioners’ homes for fellowship and fun. Join us! Bring Your Calendar to Church, Come to the Back of the Nave on Sunday Morning, and Sign Up!
