SAINT JOSEPH SYMPHONY 2025

JOHN FINNEGAN CAROL SINGALONG LYRICS

JINGLE BELLS REFRAIN: Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one-horse open sleigh! VERSE: Dashing through the snow In a one horse open sleigh O’er the fields we go Laughing all the way Bells on bob tail ring Making spirits bright What fun it is to laugh and sing A sleighing song tonight REPEAT REFRAIN:

JOY TO THE WORLD! Joy to the world! the Lord is come; Let earth receive her King; Let ev’ry heart prepare Him room, And heav’n and nature sing, And heav’n and nature sing, And heaven, and heaven, and nature sing.

DECK THE HALL Deck the hall with boughs of holly Fa-la-la-la-la, lala-la-la ‘Tis the season to be jolly Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la Don we now our gay apparel Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-lala. Troll the ancient Yule-tide carol Fa-la-la-la-la, la-lala-la.

IT CAME UPON THE MIDNIGHT CLEAR It came upon the midnight clear, That glorious song of old, From angels bending near the earth, To touch their harps of gold: “Peace on the earth, goodwill to men From heavens all gracious King!” The world in solemn stillness lay To hear the angels sing.

HARK! THE HERALD ANGELS SING Hark the herald angels sing Glory to the newborn King! Peace on earth and mercy mild God and sinners reconciled! Joyful, all ye nations rise Join the triumph of the skies; With the angelic host proclaim: Christ is born in Bethlehem! Hark! The herald angels sing Glory to the newborn King!

SILENT NIGHT Silent night, holy night All is calm, all is bright Round yon Virgin Mother and Child. Holy Infant so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace Sleep in heavenly peace

O COME, ALL YE FAITHFUL O come all ye faithful Joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem. Come and behold Him, Born the King of Angels; REFRAIN: O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.

The St. Joseph Youth Chorale has made a positive impact on the singers, families, and communities it serves in northwest Missouri. Founded in June 2012 by veteran choral directors Karen Heyde-Lipanovich and Karen Jensen, SJYC exists to promote excellence in choral experiences for exceptional singers, reaching as many as five northwest Missouri counties and 18 schools. Singers in grades 2-12 come from public, private, parochial, and home-school educational settings as well as many different cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Many singers are served by partial or full Financial Aid or Merit Scholarships which are offered to all qualified singers. SJYC was granted 501(c)3 status in May of 2014 and considerable operating funds come from grants and donations. The organization also receives funding from the Arts Fund of the Allied Arts of St. Joseph. SJYC singers love performing at area events and are currently enjoying a very busy schedule. Performances are free of charge, but donations are gladly accepted!

Karen Heyde-Lipanovich, B.S., M.S.

SJYC Artistic Director

Karen Heyde-Lipanovich earned a B.S. from MWSC in 1979 and an M.S. from NWMSU in 1987, both in Vocal Music Education. She began her career with St. Joseph School District in 1979, retiring in 2009 after 30 years of teaching. She served as Director of the awardwinning MWSU Griffon Jr. Singers Premier Choir from Fall 1998-Spring 2012, retiring from that position to co-found St. Joseph Youth Chorale. She currently serves as Artistic Director and Director of Lyric Singers, the advanced choir of SJYC with singers in grades 6-12. Choirs under her direction have performed at Missouri Music Educator’s Conference (2000), Kansas City Symphony “Lord of the Rings” (2009), “Sing A Mile High Festival” in Denver, CO (2009), Worlds of Fun 1 st Place in Category (2015), Kauffman Center “Future Stages” (2020, 2022, 2024), as well as numerous performances with the St. Joseph Symphony and the Community Chorus. Now in her 45 th year as a choral educator, she has no plans to stop teaching any time soon. She finds her singers inspiring and working with them “a gift I give myself!”
