Remember Loved Ones With Tribute Angel
Once again, a memorial Christmas tree will be featured in our Holy Family Chapel. It will be decorated with special angel ornaments, each sponsored to honor a loved one, or the memory of a loved one who has passed away. The tree will go up at the beginning of Advent and will remain on display until early January 2017. During this time, the entire Academy community will pray for the individuals remembered on the tree ornaments. A tribute angel is $25. All donations will be used to advance the mission of Saint Joseph Academy. For more information, please visit www.sja1890.org/christmasangels.
CLEseats Gets Sustainability Suggestions from SJA As part of their United Nations Sustainable Development Goals project, the Contemporary World History class researched, developed and shared a sustainability proposal with CLEseats App founder Lauren Kluth '09. CLEseats is an app that allows local restaurants to share weekly specials and menus and allows consumers to search and reserve online. To promote sustainability in local restaurants and draw more consumers to become more environmentally conscious, students researched restaurant sustainable practices, developed sustainability criteria, identified CLEseats restaurants that met the criteria and designed a graphic that would denote restaurants on the site that met the criteria. Ms. Kluth loved the idea and said it is something she would consider incorporating into the app. The app honors the late Dana Care '09 and a portion of the proceeds go to the Richie White Foundation, an organization that supported Dana during her illness.

Memoriam On November 3, alumnae, family and friends attended mass at the St. Joseph Center to remember those who have died. Rev. Thomas Woost presided over the mass that remembered all deceased alumnae of Saint Joseph Academy, Nazareth Academy and St. Therese Academy, as well as deceased parents, benefactors and friends. To view a list of those we remembered at this mass, please click here. The Church remembers those who have died throughout the month of November. This time allows us to focus on our faith in the promise of our resurrection as well as on our family members, classmates and friends with whom we will one day be reunited. Starting this month, we will have a special place in this newsletter that lists members of our alumnae community who have died in the past month. Please keep the following members of our alumnae community in your prayers: Rita Braun Auer T'44, Yvonne Siemer '52, Patricia Murphy N'72, Debora Hough Garcia '74 and Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Durkin '78.
We love hearing what our alumnae are doing. Tweet it, blog it, share it! email@example.com
