Help Us Ensure Safe Prom, Graduation Season Administrators from six area Catholic high schools are jointly asking Senior parents to help ensure a safe and happy prom and graduation season. As part of an educational effort, the administrators have composed a letter outlining the details of the 1989 Amendment to the Ohio Revised Code, commonly known as the "Keg Law," that holds individuals responsible for underage drinking on property under their control. Students Gain College-Level Technology Experience at Their Fingertips As healthcare careers are on the

rise and new technologies continue to be implemented at the Academy, students are reaping the benefits of the Anatomage Table. The table is similar to an oversized tablet and is often referred to as "the most technologically advanced anatomy visualization system on the market."

Student Spotlight

Whether it is the human body or animal anatomy, the Anatomage Table shares more than 1400 high resolution three-dimensional (3-D) images and displays with the touch of a finger. Students are able to experience computerized tomography (CT) scans-which include everything from cadavers, the human heart, animal anatomy and skulls from The Smithsonian Institution.

The Anatomage Table enables students to learn about the various parts and functions of the human body on an interactive level. The Anatomage Table allows teachers to make quizzes, letting the table be a correlative tool with students. No other high school in Ohio has this Anatomage Table.

Name: Olivia Martinez '19 Accomplishments: Olivia Martinez '19 was accepted into the prestigious Interlochen Summer Music Program in northern Michigan. Olivia was selected to be featured on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) show Songs at the Center, featuring singers and songwriters.

Senior Parade Marks Beginning of Graduation Festivities With police cars, students on rollerblades, tandem bikes and water balloons, 176 members of the Class of 2017 loudly upheld their end of tradition with the annual Senior Parade on Wednesday. Marking their last official day of classes, Seniors had an entire beach theme and showed their love of Saint Joseph Academy. We will miss you, Seniors!

"It is a show meant to showcase singersongwriters in a similar way to the shows in Nashville which use 'in the round' performances of several artists at a time. Songs at the Center airs on 150 stations. It was filmed live in Marietta, Ohio on April 22 and I was a featured student singer-songwriter. I performed two original songs and one will make it on the show along with an interview.

Four students took home top honors for the 2017 Ohio K-12 Chinese Essay Contest awards among the 11th & 12th grade group.

for the Arts, where she helps teach a special needs class. Olivia plays at several open mic nights around Cleveland. She enjoys performing at 87 West in Crocker Park and River Dog Cafe, where she sings cover songs as well as original songs.

College Corner

The Technology Department will have designated support days throughout the summer in which students are encouraged bring their Saint Joseph Academy Chromebook in for any needed repairs. Taking advantage of these days will also assist in avoiding extended repair times in August caused by the large volume of technical support requests and repairs often received at the beginning of the school year.

"Earn Your Spots Jaguar 5K Race/1-Mile Walk" - Monday, May 29 Start your Memorial Day off by exercising and helping raise vital support for the Saint Joseph Academy Scholarship Fund!

The 5th Annual "Earn Your Spots Jaguar 5K Race/1-Mile Walk" is being held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29 at 9 a.m. Cost is $25 for pre-registration (deadline 9 a.m. Friday, May 26), $15 for Saint Joseph Academy students (pre-registration only) and $30 for race day registration. Please register for the event by clicking here.

Students who participate in this event will be eligible for a wellness credit by documenting their participation.

Volunteers are needed to help with both the pre-event planning and day of logistics for the "Earn Your Spots 5K Race/1-Mile Walk" and Annual Golf Outing.

Sports Highlights Crew Finishes Second at Midwest; Sends Three Boats to Nationals

The crew program had a record-setting performance at the 2017 Midwest Scholastic Championships. The Jaguars finished as the runner-up in the women's points total competition with 138 points. It marked Saint Joseph Academy's second consecutive runner-up performance at Midwest. In addition, the Jaguars will have three boats advance to the national championship regatta in Camden, New Jersey in two weeks.

The Jaguar Navy had two boats capture gold medals on the day as the Varsity 4+ boat and the Second Varsity 4+ both took home titles. Three Jaguar boats also took home silver medals as the Freshman 8+ boat, the Lightweight Novice 4+ and the Novice 4+ all came in second place.

Two Saint Joseph Academy boats finished with bronze medals as the 2nd 8+ and the 3rd 8+ came in third place in their respective races. Congratulations and good luck!

Rugby Qualifies for Nationals for Second Year in a Row The Jaguar Rugby team has once again qualified for Nationals. The team will play Saturday, May 20, 11 a.m. in the quarterfinals against Kahuku High School, Hawaii in the first round. There will be a second game played on Saturday, dependent on results, as well as one game on Sunday, May 21. Games will be played at the Moose Rugby Grounds in Elkhart, Indiana. The Jaguars are the defending single-school national champions. Good luck, ladies, and congratulations!

Jaguar Lacrosse Tops Beaumont on Senior Night The Senior lacrosse class enjoyed an exciting win on Senior night as the Jaguars topped Beaumont 12-10 in a back-and-forth game. Danielle Smith '18 made ten crucial saves throughout the game in the cage.

The Senior class played a big role in the win as Molly Chambers '17 and Kaitlyn Nieto '17 each scored twice, while Sarah Presley '17 and Kayla Tomm '17 added goals.

Ella Calleri '19 and Emily Langel '20 each had three goals to lead the Jaguars attack.

Softball Has Record-Setting Season A record-setting season for the Jaguar softball team came to an end as the Jaguars fell 3-0 to Parma in the district semifinals.
