Founded in 1829 by Father John McElroy S.J., Saint John’s has the distinction of being Maryland’s oldest Catholic high school. For over 187 years, we have carried on Father McElroy’s work educating young men and women to be leaders for our nation. As with the other institution of higher learning founded by Father McElroy, Boston College, we practice our faith in a joyful, robust, and contemporary manner while focusing on the education of the whole student: mind, body, and spirit.
