LOUIS KEENAN LOWNDES
Louis Keenan McLean Lowndes, a 21-year-old business administration student hailing from the twin city of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is the son of Louis Lowndes and Cheryl McLean. Graduating next fall, he’s set to fulfill a promise he made to his mom back in middle school - to graduate from college without accumulating any debt. Keenan credits God and his family for their unwavering support.
A special shoutout goes to Saint Augustine’s University and David Bowser for their belief in Keenan, awarding him the prestigious Presidential Scholarship. His first semester at SAU was a challenge, adjusting to a new environment during unprecedented times. This initially led him to stay in his room, missing out on the miracles that Saint Augustine’s had to offer. However, everything changed during the second semester.
Keenan, who had previously been primarily an athlete and a student with minimal extracurricular involvement, decided he wanted to be more engaged. He expresses his gratitude to Jamaal Searcy, Van Sapp, Jalen Baker, and Tyril Stokes for believing in him during this pivotal time in his life. During college, Keenan’s leadership activities expanded significantly, including roles as a Collegiate Athlete, Residential Assistant, Peer Tutor, Mister Sophomore, and joining Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, where he later became the chapter president for the Gamma Psi Chapter.

His journey continued with roles as Mister Junior, completing six internships, becoming a part of NABA, Inc., and preparing for induction into the Delta Mu Delta international honor society in business. He also participated in the Mister HBCU pageant and proudly became the 10th Mister Saint Augustine’s University. Most recently, Keenan accepted a full-time offer with Deloitte as a Consultant Analyst.
This incredible journey has led him to create his platform, “Miracle 1867.” As Mister Saint Augustine’s University, Keenan’s mission is to make students more aware of the miracles happening around them by highlighting internships, student success stories, and school updates. He aims to empower students by teaching them how to advocate for themselves, addressing areas such as mental health and school improvements. Keenan’s vision is to establish a positive SAU brand, emphasizing that Saint Augustine’s University cannot dwell on its negatives but must strive for progress.
In Keenan’s view, his achievements are not solely attributed to his abilities but are a testament to the power of faith, his family’s support, and the MIRACLE on Oakwood Avenue that is Saint Augustine’s University.
73RD MISS SAINT AUGUSTINE’S UNIVERSITY
ASHLEY KRISTEN WEEKES

Ashley’s resolute determination is aimed at achieving certification as a public accountant within the United States of America. Presently, she is a senior, majoring in accounting, characterized by her unwavering commitment and diligence.
Ashley’s initial arrival at Saint Augustine’s University painted the picture of a young island girl with dreams centered around excelling in track and field. However, the transformative magic of Saint Augustine’s University has propelled her into unexpected realms of excellence and leadership.

Throughout her tenure at SAU, Ashley has been privileged to embark on extensive travels, receive invaluable guidance from exceptional mentors, form friendships that are destined to last a lifetime, actively participate in numerous organizations and clubs, and acquire priceless work experience through internships and career development workshops. Ashley has maintained an exceptional cumulative GPA of 4.0, consistently earning a coveted place on both the President’s List and the Dean’s List every semester.
Her commitment extends to leadership roles as she serves as President of NABA, Inc., holds a membership on the Campus Activities Board, and boasts affiliations with prestigious honor societies such as Delta Mu Delta and Alpha Kappa Mu. She takes pride in being a part of the pioneering HBCU Cycling team and assumes roles as a Chapel Scholar and Divine Dancer, truly embodying the spirit of SAU. Furthermore, Ashley’s association with the International Student Organization adds depth and richness to her journey.
In addition to her impressive academic and extracurricular achievements, Ashley has been a recipient of over 10 scholarships during her time at SAU. She has also served as Miss Kappa Epsilon for Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated and clinched victory in the HP Business Case competition, among other notable accomplishments. Remarkably, Ashley has completed three internships, including positions at Alliance Bernstein in Wealth Management and Deloitte in Audit and Assurance, with the latter being repeated during her third year.
Upon her imminent graduation from SAU, Ashley has firm plans to pursue graduate studies with the aim of obtaining a master’s degree in Accountancy. Ashley wants to leave her legacy with her guiding motto: P.U.S.H., “Persist Until Success Happens.” She implores every individual, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity, to awaken their inner drive and relentlessly pursue their goals and aspirations.
