Cool Off and Beat the Heat with a Refreshing Treat from Jungle Fruit Raspados

SINCE opening for business in the Rancho Sahuarita Marketplace just over a year ago, Jungle Fruit Raspados has proved to be a delicious and refreshing choice for community residents - serving up friendly service and tasty treats!

Owner Lourdes Perez and her team offer a menu that includes a variety of refreshing Aguas Frescas, to savory raspados along with prepared chips of customer’s choice. Perez has shared that she had a dream of “bringing the jungle to the desert”, citing her love of fresh fruit, veggies and the relief that comes with cooling treats in the heat of summer since she was a child. Seeking to create a fun and tasty environment where the Sahuarita community

can enjoy delicious treats without having to travel far, Jungle Fruit Raspados was born.

Now just over a year into business, Lourdes is committed to offering customer favorites and popular picks such as fresas con crema or chii-loaded raspados, as well as new menu items such as Chocolate Dubia Strawberries (available on Saturdays only). The menu features a wide variety of raspados, all crafted with the freshest ingredients to ensure a burst of flavor in every bite. Whether you're craving something sweet, tangy, or even a bit spicy, the team shares that they have the perfect treat to satisfy any taste buds.

Lourdes is so grateful to the Sahuarita

community for their support and love since opening. “Your enthusiasm and patronage have been essential in helping us grow and thrive. From family gatherings to casual hangouts, we are thrilled to be a part of your special moments and daily life.”

Jungle Fruit Raspados is open 7 days per week; Monday – Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Jungle Fruit Raspados also remains open later for special occasions and game nights – so that they can accommodate and serve guests with a little late-night snack!

AS monsoon clouds roll through and back-to-school routines return, August offers Sahuarita residents a chance to reset—physically, financially, and mentally. After the slower pace of July, this month marks a shift toward structure, fresh intentions, and steady momentum.

The Chavez family is using the seasonal transition to streamline. They’re starting meal prep Sundays, walking to school instead of driving when possible, and setting budget goals for the rest of the year. Their secret? Aligning health and money habits with everyday routines, not just big resolutions.

With temperatures still high, early mornings remain ideal for movement—whether it’s a brisk walk, a short bike ride, or 10 minutes of stretching before breakfast. Back indoors, families are experimenting with crockpot meals, grain bowls, and overnight oats to

keep cooking cool and energy levels stable.

On the money side, August is a smart time to review summer spending and regroup. Many locals are organizing back-toschool gear swaps, tracking down tax-free shopping weekends, and looking ahead to fall travel with early booking savings. For some, that also means reassessing monthly expenses—canceling unused services or setting up auto-transfers to savings before holiday season sneaks in.

And if the stormy afternoons leave you inside, it’s the perfect time to reset digitally: sort your inbox, unsubscribe from marketing emails, or set “do not disturb” windows for better focus and sleep.

Let August be the month that moves you forward—with intention, clarity, and care. A few simple resets today can lead to stronger habits and smoother seasons ahead.

KB HOME ANNOUNCES THE GRAND OPENING OF ITS NEWEST COMMUNITY AT RANCHO SAHUARITA

Entrada Del Toro at Rancho Sahuarita offers personalized, new homes with on-site resort-style amenities and close to sought-after schools, affordably priced from the $280,000s.

KBHome,

one of the largest and most trusted homebuilders in the U.S., today announced the grand opening of Entrada Del Toro, a new community within the highly desirable Rancho Sahuarita master plan. The new homes are designed for the way people live today, with popular features like modern kitchens overlooking large great rooms, bedroom suites with walk-in closets, ample storage and beautiful outdoor living spaces. The one- and two-story homes offer up to six bedrooms and three baths.

Homeowners will appreciate Rancho Sahuarita’s numerous on-site resort-style amenities, including Club Rancho Sahuarita, a multipurpose recreation center that features meeting rooms, athletic courts, a full fitness facility, Kids Club, playground, mini puttputt course, sports bar, lap pool and splash park with water slides. The master plan also offers over 15 neighborhood parks with playgrounds and picnic areas as well as a dog park, amphitheater, 15-acre fishing lake and over 25 miles of pedestrian and biking trails. Additionally, the new neighborhood is walking distance to Rancho Sahuarita’s planned Club Del Toro, which will include fitness facilities, green space, a pool, splash pad, and basketball and pickleball courts.

What sets KB Home apart is the company’s focus on building strong, personal relationships with every customer, so they have a real partner in the homebuying process. Every KB home is uniquely built for each customer, so no two KB homes are the same. Homebuyers have the ability to personalize their new home, from floor plans to exterior styles to where they live in the community. Their home

comes to life in the KB Home Design Studio, a one-of-a-kind experience where customers get both expert advice and the opportunity to select from a wide range of design choices that fit their style and their budget. Reflecting the company's commitment to creating an exceptional homebuying experience, KB Home is the #1 customer-ranked homebuilder in Tucson based on homebuyer satisfaction surveys from a leading third-party review site.

“We are pleased to offer Sahuarita homebuyers spacious new homes in the town’s premier master-planned community,” said Amy McReynolds, President of KB Home’s Tucson division. “Entrada Del Toro at Rancho Sahuarita is zoned for the soughtafter Sahuarita Unified School District, and homeowners will appreciate the master plan’s resort-style amenities, which include swimming pools, community centers, parks, walking and biking paths, and a fishing lake.”

Innovative design plays an essential role in every home KB builds. The company’s floor plans inspire contemporary living, with a focus on roomy, light-filled spaces that have easy indoor/outdoor flow. KB homes are engineered to be highly energy and water efficient and include features that support healthier indoor environments. They are also designed to be ENERGY STAR® certified — a standard that fewer than 12% of new homes nationwide meet — offering greater comfort, well-being and utility cost savings than new homes without certification.

The new community is situated at the corner of South Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard and West Calle Caleta, providing easy access to Interstates 10 and 19, Tucson International Airport and the area’s major employers, including Northwest Medical Center Sahuarita and Freeport-McMoRan. Entrada Del Toro is a short drive to Tucson Spectrum and downtown Tucson for shopping, dining and entertainment. Homeowners will also appreciate the proximity to outdoor recreation, including hiking and biking at Anza Trail, Santa Rita Mountains and Madera Canyon.

The Entrada Del Toro at Rancho Sahuarita sales office and model homes are open for walk-in visits and private in-person tours by appointment. Pricing begins from the $280,000s. For more information on KB Home, call 888-KB-HOMES or visit kbhome.com.
