This is the existing condition of Virgina AvenueWest Side Avenue. Where it is a busy intersection, located in Jersey City, New Jersey. West Side Avenue leads to Elementary School 24.
This is the proposal of West Side Avenue. Where it is a busy intersection, located in Jersey City, New Jersey. West Side Avenue leads to Elementary School 24. The changes that were proposed is to have more greenery and more bike lanes. That way it is more safer for pedestrains and students going to school. We also proposed to limit parking around the area.
In this section, you can see the width of sidewalk is too wide, not a lot of greenery and no bike lanes. Cyclists have to ride their bikes on other vehicles lanes on this street as well. Once again there’s also no public seating in the area.
In this section, you can see the width of sidewalk are made smaller with greenery to separate pedestrain accessibility and vehicles. Also, there are bike lanes. We also limited the parking spaces as well and add more public seating for pedestrains.
