First, I want to say how excited I am about being here, the members I have met so far have been so welcoming and truly love their club, and only want the best SCC. We will be gearing up for the season so you will see a lot of new faces on our team that are excited and thrilled to be a part of Sahalee.

In the coming months we will be making some menu changes to improve the quality and consistency of the food. We are looking at introducing Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner menus, so be on the lookout for new items. I am committed to providing exceptional food quality and service to our members.

I cannot express how important the members’ feedback is to the success of Sahalee’s Food and Beverage program. I encourage all members to share their experiences. We have a QR code inside of the check presenter and we will ask two questions; How was your service, and how was your food? This can be completely anonymous, or you may leave your member number or name.

For the week of Master’s starting on April 10th we will be offering $2 Pimento cheese sandwiches and $2 egg salad sandwiches. We will also have a drink special called the Azalea that consists of Vodka or Gin, pineapple juice, lemon juice and grenadine for $6.

March 12th begins our official 100-day countdown to the Championship, and momentum is really starting to pick up! Here are your updates for March:

Volunteers:

As expected, we crossed over the 850-volunteer number. With just 250 spots left to fill, I am highly confident that we will reach our goal Thanks to the nearly 150 members who have already signed up to volunteer There’s still room for more, but you’ll need to act quickly! As a reminder, all volunteers receive a week-long pass to the Championship For members, this includes access to the Member Viewing Area on 4N (hole #13 of the Championship) HERE is a link to register

Hospitality Sales:

We officially sold the last private table in the Runyan Club! Our team is also finalizing larger custom experiences with some of the area’s biggest employers. Four groups remain available for the Pro-Am on Tuesday, June 18 as well. Based on our increased momentum, we should be on track to hit our hospitality goal.

Should members be interested in an upgraded hospitality experience at the Championship, we still have limited all-inclusive Runyan Club tickets available. These tickets provide access to the Runyan Room and Acton Bar in the clubhouse, where you can literally sit on the patio and watch the best in the world practice just 10 feet away Single day Runyan Club tickets are $475 and can be purchased HERE.

Ticket sales have started slowly, but that is quickly changing A week-long member ticket is $175 that includes access to the Sahalee Member Viewing Area, planned for 4 North (#13 in the Championship), as well as the Championship grounds June 20-23. I’ve been asked a few times for reasons why portions of the course will be closed before and after the Championship, so allow me to address the topic The closure allows for the final (and safe) installation of infrastructure, while ensuring the golf course will be in pristine condition for the Championship With 26 hours of national television coverage on The Golf Channel and NBC, our course will be seen by millions worldwide – and it needs to be perfect. The closure dates were also part of our contract with the PGA of America and are necessary for hosting major Championships.

South/North will be closed for 13 days, starting Wednesday June 12th. It will reopen on Tuesday, June 25th. East is expected to close after Memorial Day and will remain closed for a short while after the Championship ends as infrastructure is removed from our campus. For perspective, this is the least amount of course closure of any of the majors we’ve hosted In the past, we’ve closed South/North for up to 21 days, and East for an additional month due to Championship logistics That will not be the case this year, as we’ve addressed these concerns by adding new efficiencies in operating this Championship

KPMG WOMEN’SPGA PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

This month our “March” to the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, is now inside 100 days! As we get closer to this championship, we are continuing our player introduction series with Nelly Korda!

Nelly is originally from Bradenton, Florida, and comes from a very competitive and athletic family! Her sister, Jessica, is also a professional golfer on the LPGA Tour, while her father, Petr Korda, is a former professional tennis player Growing up in the Sunshine State, Jessica and Nelly actively pushed each other to become elite junior golfers and competed in many high-level junior golf tournaments Some notable accolades in Nelly’s junior golf career included making the cut in the US Women’s Open as a 14year-old, participating in the 2015 Junior Solheim Cup, clinching the title of AJGA Rolex Junior All-American, and winning many notable tournaments such as the Harder Hall and the Ping Invitational.

Nelly gained her professional status as just an 18-year-old in 2016. Over her professional career, she has won a total of 14 professional events, 9 of which have been on the LPGA Tour In 2021, she had a remarkable year winning 4 professional tournaments, including her first major, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club! Amongst her accolades includes a gold medal in the Japan Olympic Summer Games representing Team USA! With all these successes, Nelly was ranked #1 in the World Golf Rankings throughout much of that year.

In 2022, Nelly took a hiatus from her golf career due to an injury stemming from a blood clot in her arm. This was followed in 2023 with a troublesome back injury. Even though these injuries took her off the golf course for a while, she has quickly recaptured her amazing form winning, once again. Earlier this year in January, Nelly won the LPGA Drive On Championship and currently holds the #2 World Golf Ranking. We look forward to hosting Nelly and hopes that she can keep up the positive momentum with her game as she approaches the High Heavenly Ground!

HellofellowSahaleemembers!I’mpleasedtoannouncethereturnoftheSahaleePlayersChampionship(SPC) whichwilltakeplacethisSeptember7thand8thonouramazinggolfcourse.Lastyear’sevent,ourfirstpostCOVIDSPC,wasthefirsttimethetournamentwasplayedasanNCAAcollegiateevent.Theweekendwasmetwith enthusiasm,appreciation,andreverencefromtheplayersandtheirfamilies,coaches,volunteers,members,and fans.I’mhonoredandthrilledtohavetheopportunitytoserveasthisyear’stournamentchairman.

BeforeIsignoff,I’dliketointroducemyself.I’vebeenaproudmemberofSahaleeforthepastfouryears,andI stillgetthrilledeachtimeIdriveup,comearoundthecorner,andseewhatthepinpositionisonNorth#1.I’m westcoastbornandraised,fromLosAngelestoSouthernOregonandeventuallySeattle,whereI’velivedsince 1992.IservedintheU.S.NavyasaNuclearEngineerandsubmarineofficer.Followingmyservice,Itookajobin theaerospaceindustry,andI’vebeenthereforthepast25+yearsinvariousprogrammanagement,analytics, businessdevelopment,andmarketingroles.I’vebeenmarriedtomywife,Kristin,for31yearsandhavetwokids, AnnaandEvan,whobothendedupatcollegesinSouthernCalifornia(outofstatetuition…twice!).Ilovegolf,and I’masportsnutingeneral!

TSpring is in the air at Sahalee as golfers (and our cold/wet turf care team) enjoyed the first few seventy-degree days of the year over the past weeks As the seasons change, so do priorities on the golf course as our team wraps up off-season projects and shifts its focus toward turfgrass conditioning and tournament preparation While a few improvement projects like yardage marker replacement and cart path repairs are still yet to come in April and May, I’d like to recognize our dedicated team for the great work they completed over the winter Hazardous tree removals, tee leveling and returfing, timber feature restoration, irrigation head and drain basin leveling, and understory weed control and bark installation are just a few of the many projects the team took on to improve our course(s) at Sahalee for 2024 and years to come.

KPMG Course Update

As we move inside 80 days from the kickoff of the 2024 Women’s PGA Championship at Sahalee, there are several important items to share regarding course/facility availability and access during the lead up to the event. Please note the following dates:

May 13th – Course buildup scheduled to begin. As course buildup progresses, holes 1 and 9 on the East golf course may be impacted with modified teeing areas

May 13th – Natural grass range tee closes for pre-championship recovery The natural grass tee will be available beginning in mid-April through 5/12

June 2nd – East golf course to close through Championship for KPMG pavilion, volunteer headquarters, ticketing gates, and media/vendor compound buildup

June 2nd – Power carts restricted to paths through Championship week.Individuals with current medical exemptions will continue 90-degree cart access as weather allows.

June 12th – Golf course(s) and practice facilities close for duration of Championship.

June 25th – South and North courses and practice facilities reopen for member play.

This year’s Championship requires 13 days of full course closure during advance and Championship weeks compared to 17 days during the 2016 event The East golf course, which will be most impacted by tournament buildup on in-play areas, will remain closed for a period after the Championship so that temporary structures can be safely removed

SAHALEE DRESS CODE

Our dress code reflects shared values and demonstrates mutual respect for our community and our Sahalee brand. Adherence to the dress code makes our environment more enjoyable and helps sustain the quality of membership and the standard of excellence upon which Sahalee’s reputation was built.

Members are responsible for advising their guests and family members regarding the dress code Members, family members and/or guests who are not in compliance with our dress code will be asked to comply either by changing or purchasing appropriate attire in the Pro Shop Unable or unwilling individuals will be asked to leave the facilities

The dress code applies to all members, family members and their guests, including children above age 8. Children under the age of 8 should be attired in similar fashion to the guidelines below.

Golf Course & Practice Facilities:

All: All individuals utilizing the golf course and golf practice facilities are to observe the following standard of apparel:

• Golf slacks, shorts, skorts or dresses are acceptable.

• Collared tops are required. Collars may be traditional folded, turtle or mock turtleneck or blade style

• Pullovers, sweaters, and golf-branded hoodies are acceptable

• Shirts may be long sleeved, short sleeved or sleeveless so long as they comply with the collar guidelines

• Jogger style pants are acceptable so long as they do not have exposed drawstrings, and are of performance athletic fabric (not cotton)

• Hats and visors are acceptable, but must be worn bill forward

• Closed toe golf shoes are required

• Rain gear is acceptable

Not Permitted on golf course or practice facilities:

• Denim

• T-shirts

• Ath-leisure wear not designed for golf

• Athletic sweatshirts, sweatpants, sweatsuits or shorts

• Cargo pants/shorts

• Beach/Pool style flip flops

• Branded apparel featuring logos greater than 3” in height

Males:

• Shirts must be worn tucked in

Females:

• Leggings are acceptable only when worn as a layer under a skirt or s

• Shirts are not required to be tucked in
