2024 KPMG Championship Player Spotlight

Each month leading up to our Championship next June, we will feature a different player that is scheduled to compete at Sahalee We hope you’ll take this opportunity to learn more about the players that will make up the strongest field in Women’s Professional Golf – the Women’s PGA Championship!

Our first player in this series needs very little introduction, as her accomplishments since bursting into the scene of Women’s Professional Golf have been extraordinary Nelly Korda is the younger sister of Jessica by five years and turned professional in 2016 Thus far, she has had a decorated professional career which was preceded by an equally impressive amateur career After turning pro, Nelly competed on the Symetra Tour and won the 2016 Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge, which was her first professional event. The win earned her an LPGA Tour card in 2017, and she hasn’t looked back since then. Her first LPGA win came at the 2018 Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship, and Nelly continued her success with multiple victories in her 2019 and 2020 season. Nelly’s breakout season was two years ago in 2021 Korda finished the LPGA season with four wins, including her first LPGA major, the Women’s PGA Championship at Atlanta Athletic Club where she cleared the field by three strokes. Later that summer in August of 2021, Nelly won a gold medal for the U.S. at the Summer Olympics (the first for the U.S. since 1900). Korda went on to finish the 2021 season as the top women’s golfer in the world After a medical scare which sidelined her for part of 2022, Nelly has since returned to great form, and looks to add to her 8 total career LPGA Tour titles Currently ranked #2 in the world, Nelly has her eyes set on the Solheim Cup later this year in Spain!
