STUDENT PERFORMANCE Evaluating Student Performance
Florida compulsory school attendance law requires students to be in attendance for a minimum of 170 school days, regardless of excused absences, and receive a minimum of 900 hours of instruction (FL Administrative Code 6A-1.09512). The Sagemont School student shall not be absent more than ten days in the school year to be awarded course credit as shown below:
Persistent, excessive school absenteeism (excused or unexcused) will cause unsatisfactory progress and may result in retention.
Absences that include more than five days must be approved by the administration in order to be excused.
Note: Please note that VPK students have different requirements for attendance. After five consecutive absences, a doctor's note needs to be sent to the administration. Attendance guidelines for VPK will be provided.
