Dear Readers, Greetings...!!! We are aware of the current concerns, relating to the safety measures being implemented by some businesses, which are essential and continue to operate. Health and Safety law requires employers, who continue to operate under current circumstances, to do 'What is reasonably practicable' to protect their staff and members of the public. To fulfill this duty in addressing the risk from COVID-19 all companies must review their risk assessments and put in place measures to ensure the PHE/PHA guidance available from the GOV website is implemented. Specifically All Employers Should: • Encourage their employees to work at home, wherever possible; • Have systems in place to ensure that if someone becomes unwell in the workplace with a new, continuous cough or a high temperature, they should be sent home and advised to follow the advice to stay at home; • Employees should be reminded to wash their hands regularly throughout the day for at least 20 seconds on each occasion, and to sneeze into tissues and dispose of the tissues promptly – Catch it, Bin it, Kill it. (suitable washing facilities with soap and warm water or hand sanitizers must be provided); • Frequently clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, using your standard cleaning products. Companies should also take account of measures in the risk assessment, to follow general advice regarding distancing and ensure that it is observed between employees both at their workstations and in other areas of their premises. Where this cannot be achieved within the normal working environment additional means of protection should be considered.

For example: 1. Reduce number of workers on site at any one time; 2. Relocating workers to other tasks; 3. Redesigning processes to allow social distancing in place; 4. Put in place temporary barriers between staff; 5. Utilize technology such as teleconferencing instead of face to face meetings; 6. Adjust workflow or production line speeds. We are aware that employers are currently experiencing significant issues obtaining PPE. Public Health Guidance on the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) relates to health care settings. In all other settings individuals are asked to observe social distancing measures and practice good hand hygiene behaviors.

As the government implements protec ve measures to make everyone stay indoors, the nature is furious to bring us all outside by causing tremors in the Earth. Diﬀerent lockdown phases with changing levels of restric ons have been implemented as a measure to stay protected from SARS COVID-19 virus. During this lockdown, Delhi NCR regions have faced several tremors. This has created fear in the hearts of the residents and has raised a big ques on in their mind -if we all are safe or not. Through this ar cle, I am trying to clear some of the concepts related to earthquakes. The more we know about it, the be er we can prepare ourselves and ﬁght through it safely.

 Items on Wheels or Smooth Surfaces Can Roll or Slide! SECURE OBJECTS THAT CAN SLIDE Objects on wheels can roll, or on slippery surfaces can slide. UAE Findings 1. Leaders are beginning to understand the email perimeter is constantly under attack. The magnitude and scale of possible attacks at the email gateway is of concern to most; 66% of respondents believe it's inevitable or likely they will suffer from an email-borne attack in the coming year. 2. Impersonation, phishing, and business email compromise are increasing at a concerning clip. 70% of respondents reported the same or increasing phishing at their organisations, and due to the global pandemic, threat actors are broadly using impersonation and BEC to steal from unsuspecting users. The Mimecast Threat Center corroborated this assessment researchers saw a staggering 30% jump in impersonation globally from January to April 2020. 3. The effects of ransomware still aren't improving year over year. More than two thirds of respondents experienced a ransomware attack this year, and an average of 2 days of downtime. 4. Monthly security awareness training is the best way to train employees. Encouragingly, 36% of respondents receive training monthly, but many aren't educating employees according to best practices. 5. In the absence of security awareness training, unsafe URL clicks and data leaks will ensue. Mimecast Threat Center found that employees from companies not using Mimecast Awareness Training were more than 5X more likely to click on malicious links than employees from companies that did utilise the training. This report summarizes details from 1,025 global IT decision makers on the current state of cybersecurity. Providing year-over-year comparisons, along with Mimecast's analysis from the first 100-day period of the coronavirus public health crisis, the report is designed to both offer valuable insights into recent attack trends organizations are challenged with and to serve as a guide to drive continuous improvement to any organization's cyber resilience strategy. The findings in this year's State of Email Security report demonstrate that despite high levels of confidence in respondents' cyber resilience strategies, there is a clear need for improvement. The large majority (77%) of global respondents say they have or are actively rolling out a cyber resilience strategy. In the United Arab Emirates, 80%of respondents are doing the same. Yet an astounding 60% of respondents in the UAE, and globally, believe it is inevitable or likely they will suffer from an email-borne attack in the coming year. UAE respondents cite data loss (54%), a decrease in employee productivity (40%) and business downtime (24%) due to a lack of cyber resilience preparedness. “We're seeing the same threats that organizations have faced for years playing out with tactics matched to world events to evade detection. The increases in remote working due to the global pandemic have only amplified the risks businesses face from these threats, making the need for effective cyber resilience essential,” said Joshua Douglas, vice president of threat intelligence. “It's likely that cyber resilience strategies are lacking key elements, or don't have any at all, depending on the organization's maturity in cybersecurity. Security leaders need to invest in a strategy that builds resilience moving at the same pace as digital transformation. Domain-spoofing and email-spoofing have become mainstream attack vectors, according to the report. Over half of organizations (54%) surveyed, report anticipating an increase in web or email spoofing and brand exploitation in the next 12 months, and it is a rising concern. In fact, 74% of respondents in the UAE feel concerned about a web domain, brand exploitation, or site spoofing attack, and 80% are concerned about an attack that directly spoofs their email domain. It is critical for organizations to look beyond their email perimeters to determine how cyber threat actors may be using and damaging their brands online.  Yesterday's Threats Are Unwavering Year over Year Similar to years past, impersonation attacks, phishing attempts and ransomware continue to be a major problem, according to the research. Seventy percent of UAE report participants said phishing attacks remained flat or increased in the last 12 months and 68% report the same of impersonation attacks. This indicates that phishing is potentially becoming more difficult to stop or prevent due to more advanced tactics like spear-phishing. Ransomware also continues to wreak havoc, two-thirds of UAE respondents (66%) said ransomware attacks impacted their organization, citing data loss, downtime, financial loss and loss of reputation or trust among customers.  The Need for a Strong Human Defense The State of Email Security 2020 report also shines a light on the urgent need for a more cyber aware workforce. Encouragingly, 100% of the respondents' organizations offer security awareness training at varying frequencies and formats. However, 74% of those surveyed reported having been hit by malicious activity spread from employee to employee, pointing to the fact that the format or frequency of these trainings could be the problem. Capaci ve Sensors: Capaci ve sensors are used to detect metallic as well as nonmetallic objects by a change in the amplitude caused by the entrance of an object in the electrosta c ﬁeld of electrodes. Photoelectric Sensors: Photoelectric sensors use a beam of light to detect the presence of objects. Since light can travel long distances, these sensors are used for long-range sensing purposes.

Understanding IoT Sensors: How IoT Devices Collect Data IoT sensors form the crux of many IoT systems and help collect data that is crucial to their opera ons. Most IoT devices func on using sensors. These IoT sensors capture and analyze data to understand the physical environment around them. There are diﬀerent types of sensors that are used for carrying out diﬀerent func ons depending on the use case. Some of the most commonly used sensors and their method of func oning are discussed below:  Types of IoT Sensors A large variety of sensors are currently being used for various applica ons. These include proximity sensors, temperature sensors, chemical sensors, image sensors, and gas sensors, to name a few.  Gas Sensors Gas sensors are used to monitor air quality changes and detect the presence of harmful gases caused by leakages or other circumstances. They are mainly used in oil and gas, manufacturing, and pharmaceu cal industries. Gas sensors consist of a sensing material and a heater with free electrons flowing through them. Oxygen a racts the electrons to the surface of the sensing material, resul ng in a low number of electrons freely flowing inside the sensing material. However, if the pure air is replaced by toxic gases such as carbon monoxide or propane, the electrons held by the oxygen molecules are pushed inside the sensing material and allows the passage of current through the circuit. This triggers the sensor to sound an alarm detec ng the presence of harmful gas.  Temperature Sensors Temperature sensors are used to detect changes in temperature. They are used in household appliances such as refrigerators, ACs, and thermostats as well as in industries such as manufacturing where machines are required to operate at certain temperatures. Temperature sensors can provide realme informa on about the temperature of machinery and the natural environment, helping carry out opera ons at an op mum temperature. The most commonly used temperature sensors work on the thermocouple principle. A thermocouple is made up of two dissimilar metals that are joined together to form two junc ons(hot and cold). Voltage flows due to the difference in temperatures of the two junc ons which can be converted into a temperature reading. IoT sensors provide cri cal informa on in realme that can impact work opera ons. They can help avert disasters or help reduce the damages if quick ac ons are taken based on the data provided by them. COVID-19 Infection Control in Existing Building Design By Arindam Bhadra The recent spread of the Pandemic Coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought several new ques ons to the forefront with respect to the design and opera on of the buildings in which we spend much of our me, speciﬁcally when it comes to infec on control.

Many of us are asking "How clean are our buildings, really?" and, "What can be done to control the spread of viruses in a high-density space?" Topics like surface cleaning and air purifica on prac ces that were once the sole domain of the health care industry are now top of mind in discussions about workplaces, restaurants, educa on facili es, retail spaces and grocery stores. With this renewed interest comes a new market for many high-quality sanita on and air filtra on products - but separa ng the valid claims from the noise can be difficult.

HEPA Filtration A standard air high-efficiency par culate air filter looks and acts much like any air filter in that it captures but does not kill contaminants. The HEPA designa on means that the filter assembly was designed and tested to capture 99.7% of par cles in the air passing through it that are 0.3 microns in size. The 0.3micron size represents the most difficult par cle size to capture so the 99.7% capture rate actually represents the worstcase efficiency of the filter. For par cles that are larger or smaller than 0.3 microns, the capture rate increases.

When properly installed, operated and maintained, bipolar ioniza on systems can reduce dust and mold, capture odors, reduce vola le organic compounds and reduce viruses and bacteria in the air.

By maintaining indoor rela ve humidity between 40% to 60%, building operators can reduce the risk of spreading airborne infec ous diseases in their facili es. Disadvantages • Does not capture or kill pathogens. • Consumes water for humidiﬁca on. • Can add signiﬁcant cost to the system installa on.

Ultraviolet Sterilization Anyone who has ever go en a sunburn is familiar with UV light's ability to degrade organic materials. Given the proper contact me and intensity, UV light can inac vate viruses and bacteria - rendering them harmless. UV lights can be installed in an air handling unit or even directly in the space itself, but the light must directly contact the pathogen in order to be eﬀec ve. There is no travel distance or "condi oning" of the air that takes place.

To do this, one widely discussed solu on is the applica on of thermal imaging to detect body temperatures. These systems work by using infrared radia on to evaluate temperature diﬀerences on the surfaces of the skin or other materials. A variety of devices exist with this technology including ceiling/wall-mounted cameras, handheld thermal imagers or devices integrated into exis ng security or building automa on systems.
