Hello,

First, on behalf of the Michigan Horse Council Board of Directors, Michigan Horse Expo Staff/ Volunteers, and the entire Michigan equine community, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 40th annualMichiganHorseExpo!
This Expo might seem a bit more special than previous ones, as the Michigan Horse Council is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2023. Founded in 1973, with its mission to promote the horse industryandtoprovideequineadvocacy,theMichiganHorseCouncilhasbeendoingjustthatthrougha variety of events, legislative education, and philanthropic contributions into numerous Michigan equine-relatedorganizations.
AswecelebratetheGoldenAnniversaryoftheMichiganHorseCouncil,letuscelebratethehealthand strength of this organization. Only the Horse, majestic and powerful, could lead such a diverse and dedicatedgroupofhumansforoverfivedecades.Lookingahead,robustgrowthpotentialanddedicated resourceswillprovidesurefootingforanother50yearsandbeyond!
Since1973,theMichiganHorseCouncilhasbuiltawidevarietyofeventsthatadvocatefor,positively impact, and engage persons and groups to participate in the equine industry. Some of these events includeEquineLegislativeDayattheCapitol,MichiganHorseExpo,StatewideTrailRide,andmonthly VirtualEquineCoffeeHours.Mostrecently,theMichiganHorseCouncilpartneredwiththeMichigan DepartmentofNaturalResources(DNR)tohelpexecutetheinauguralMichiganShorelineRide.
TheMichiganHorseExpoisthemainfundraisingeventfortheMichiganHorseCouncil.Becauseof continuedsupportanditssuccessfor40years,theMichiganHorseCouncilisabletoreinvestincome backintoourequinecommunityinavastarrayofmethods.Since2017,theMichiganHorseCouncilhas awarded $29,000 in scholarships, $20,086 in education and youth development, $7,089 to various associationsandpartnergroups,$7,750.00toMichigantrails,and$24,620ineffortsaimedatpromoting theMichiganhorseindustrytoMichiganlegislators.

At this milestone event, the 40th annual Michigan Horse Expo, the Michigan Horse Council will be hostingmanycelebrationstocommemorateitsGoldenanniversary Weinviteyoutocelebratewithusto honorfivedecadesofpromotingandadvocatingfortheequineindustry!

Tired of boarding your horses? Buy your own private barn with indoor arena between Davison and Lapeer, near I-69. Currently 5 stalls (1 double stall, 1 foaling stall), office, tack room on one side of the arena. Other aisleway has large run in area and plenty of space to add additional stalls. Ample hay storage including loft areas on both sides. Indoor arena has new footing and is approx. 70x64 and has a deck next to tack room that could be a viewing area. 2019: NEW metal roof, NEW asphalt flooring in aisleway between stalls, NEW flooring in stalls & barn was painted in 2020. Stall mats and fencing needed, otherwise turnkey for horses. Barn has water/electric. 13 acres has woods, crops and plenty of room to build a home in the future. Great hunting property!
