Famous ‘Jedi Section’ is named after the effect you feel on your bike like a ‘speeder’.
Cross the Blue Mesa Dam, then continue along the banks of the lake to a secluded camp area. Park host and amenities.
Mostly on double track and 4WD road, then turns west and turns to single track along the ridge top.
Drive gradually up the mesa to the lake just below the wilderness boundary. Great for families.
Local’s favorite. Granny gear climb on Canal Trail to Jeep road then a worth while descent through aspens back to Brush Creek.

Nestled at the base of Crested Butte Mountain is a ski area that was started in 1961 by two men from Kansas, Dick Eflin and Fred Rice. The name, “Mt. Crested Butte”, comes from the geologic formation of a volcanic, craggy faced butte that rises up above town to 12,162 feet. The Town of Mt. Crested Butte was founded in 1974 and was originally made up of 11 Chalet Village additions centralized around the ski base area. Today the town includes many new neighborhoods like Prospect, Gold Link, Elk Run, Timberline, Summit, Overlook, Pitchfork, Glacier Lily Estates and Sunlight Ridge.
