Ahi Tuna with Seaweed Salad

by Wine Country Inn

Tuna Ingredients: (serves one) • 3 oz. ahi tuna • 1 tsp. thinly sliced pickled ginger • tuna rub (equal parts salt, pepper, Old Bay seasoning, dill, garlic) Tuna Directions: Coat all sides of tuna with tuna rub. Sear tuna on all sides, 20 seconds per side. Slice tuna into 9 to 10 thin slices and arrange with wakame seaweed salad. Garnish with pickled ginger and serve as entrée or as tapas to share. Wakame Seaweed Salad Ingredients: • 1 oz. Wakame seaweed • splash of sweet Asian chili sauce*

• splash of sesame oil • sprinkle of sesame seed

Wasabi Sauce Ingredients: • 1 tbs. Wasabi powder • ½ cup mayonnaise • Water to thin (scant) Combine thoroughly and use sparingly. Warning: Extremely spicy, use with caution. Note: Prepared Wasabi Sauce is available at local supermarkets in the produce department or in the Asian food aisle. Suggestions: Ask your butcher for ahi tuna, which comes vacuum sealed and chilled. *Mae Ploy is recommended brand of sweet Asian chili sauce. Multiply quantity by number of servings needed. As a variation, ahi tuna can also be served atop an assortment of fresh greens with Wasabi Sauce. Enjoy!
