ASE POLICIES HOURS OF OPERATION Campus opens at 7:30 a.m. If your K-8 student needs ASE early-bird care between 7:30 - 8 a.m., please contact Joy to sign up your child. The early-bird rate is $11.50/morning for your student. Pre-K-8th grade students are not permitted on campus before 7:30 a.m.

The After School Enrichment Program is open 2:45 - 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., a late fee will be charged. The late pick-up penalty is $23 for the first minute and $1 for each additional minute. Habitual late pick-up (five times) will be cause for a child’s dismissal from the ASE Program.

Drop-ins are discouraged, however, if your child attends camp without prior registration, you will be billed $23 per hour.

K-5 students on campus after 3:15, and 68 students on campus after 3:45 p.m. who are not participating in a supervised activity (such as a club or sport) will be checked in to camp and charged the drop-in rate.

ASE will be closed during all school holidays/closures. Please refer to the ASE Calendar on page 3.

SNACKS Please send an after-school snack for your student; the ASE program does not provide snacks.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS AND/OR PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS If your child has a medical condition, please email the Director with accommodations required for your child after you register your child for ASE.

SIGNING IN AND OUT If your student is attending camp after school, they will be signed in and out by a camp counselor.

If your Lower and/or Middle school child is on campus before or after school without a parent or guardian (18+ years), they need to check in to ASE and will be charged the drop-in fee if not pre-registered.

High School students are not permitted to sign their siblings out of ASE to supervise them on campus.

Please notify Joy if any other adult will sign out your child from ASE. For sign-out purposes, have them bring a form of I.D.

COMMUNITY CONDUCT & BEHAVIORAL POLICY Students participating in the After School Enrichment Program must follow and support Country Day's Community Code of Conduct. As an extension of the school day, ASE aligns its behavioral policies with the Lower School and Middle School divisions.

Behavior or language perceived by the Director or designated staff as meanspirited, hurtful, unsafe, or threatening may result in suspension or dismissal from the program. This includes any behavior that undermines our goal to best serve the needs of all participants.

ALLERGY POLICY

Country Day values the safety of all of our community members and exercises some common-sense precautions to support students who have specific allergies. Though we are not a nut-free school, we strive to make it safer for children and adults with food allergies to participate in the full range of activities available at school.

The School's Responsibilities 1. We will educate the faculty and staff about allergies, signs and symptoms of allergy and anaphylaxis, and provide training on the use of epinephrine (Epi-Pens and other such devices.)

2. Each child with a known allergy will have an Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan in the school and P.E. offices, and for Lower School students, in their classroom.

3. We will educate students and parents about allergies and appropriate precautions.

4. Each faculty and staff member will be made aware of which children in their care have serious allergies.

5. All emergency medication and Emergency Care Plans will be taken on field trips.

6. It is a Lower School rule that children may not share or trade food with each other.

The Family’s Responsibilities 1. Provide a complete Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Care Plan to the school office.

2. Inform the school if your child’s allergy could be triggered by casual contact with the allergen (e.g. touch or inhalation rather than ingestion).

If this is the case, more specific precautions will be implemented in your child’s classroom or grade to minimize the possibility of contact.

3. Provide all proper medication for your child and medical release form.

4. Provide treats for the child to have on hand for birthdays or class parties. Children with known allergies may not eat food provided by others. If needed, treats may be stored in the refrigerator or freezer at school. Please label the treats.

5. Continue to educate and remind your child to limit his/her foods to those provided by or approved by the family.

6. Help to educate teachers, parents, and if desired, classmates about food allergies.

ASE CAMP Pre-Kindergarten

Aftercare is available to Pre-K students through the Pre-K program. Please contact Stephanie Castillo at Scastillo@saccds.org.

Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Start Time: 2:45 p.m.

Campers will be greeted and checked in to camp by ASE counselors, then escorted to the restrooms to wash hands prior to snack time.

Campers will engage in age-appropriate activities with counselors until picked up by a parent or caregiver no later than 6 p.m.

2nd - 5th Grades

Start Times: 3 p.m. for 2nd, 3:10 p.m. for 3rd 3:15 p.m. for 4th-5th Campers will be greeted and checked in to camp by ASE counselors, then escorted to the restrooms to wash hands prior to snack time.

Campers will engage in age-appropriate activities with counselors until picked up by a parent or caregiver no later than 6 p.m.

Middle School

Start Time: 3:30 p.m.

Middle school students must check in to the ASE Program by 3:45 p.m. unless they are participating in an after-school activity such as sports, theater, band/orchestra rehearsals,

or other school-related supervised activities such as clubs and picked up by a parent or caregiver no later than 6 p.m.

K - 8th Grade Pick-Up Policy

If a student remains on campus after an organized activity (sports practice, drama rehearsal, etc.), the teacher or coach in charge is required to sign the student into camp. Campers signed in this way will be charged the drop-in rate unless pre-arranged with Joy, and students must be picked up no later than 6 p.m. A high school sibling may not sign out and supervise students on campus.

Middle School Cars Siblings No charge until 3:25 p.m.

If you have a K-5th student waiting for a middle or high school sibling, they are able to wait in Camp at no charge until 3:25 p.m., at which time a teacher or counselor will escort them to Middle School cars by the Main Office. There is no need for parents to sign out their children when using this service. Please contact your child's teacher and Joy to use this service.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENT PLANS Registration will begin on August 16 for ASE and Pre-K aftercare. To register, please log in to parent.blackbaud.com for 2024-25. There are four payment options for your family. Financial assistance is available to families to ensure all campers have the opportunity to participate in ASE and Pre-K aftercare. Please contact Bill Petchauer (CFO) at bpetchauer@saccds.org for inquiries. Financial assistance does not apply to music lessons and enrichment classes. For all plans, ASE and Pre-K aftercare will be prorated for nonschool days. ASE fees will appear on your monthly statement through Tuition Management. Refunds will not be issued for unused hours and unused hours do not roll over to the next month.

PLAN 1

Plan 1 requires families to register in advance and pay for a full four-week session of ASE, billed from your child's dismissal time until ASE closes at 6 p.m. The average hourly rate for this plan is $12.20/hour.

It is best to select this plan if you know you will consistently pick up at 6 p.m.

PLAN 2

Plan 2 requires families to register in advance and pay for five hours a week for a four-week session to reserve their child's spot in the program. The average cost is $280 for the four-week session and any additional time over five hours a week will be charged an hourly rate of $14.00/hour.

Total billing will be based on usage. Hourly charges will be billed in half-hour increments. It is best to select this plan if your child's pick-up time will vary daily.

PLAN 3

Plan 3 requires families to register in advance and pay for the entire 2024-2025 school year to reserve their child's spot in the program. The discounted rate for this plan is $11.00/hour.

Based on dismissal times, families will pay:: $5450 for Pre-K-2nd grade $4500 for 3rd-5th grade $4200 for 6th-8th grade It is best to select this plan if your child's pick-up will be 6 p.m. daily for the entire school year.

PLAN 4

Plan 4 requires families to register in advance and pay for five hours a week for the entire 2024-2025 school year to reserve their child's spot in the program. The average cost is $280 for the four-week session and any additional time over five hours a week will be charged an hourly rate of $14.00/hour.

Based on dismissal times, families will pay: $2226 for Pre-K-2nd grade $2226 for 3rd-5th grade $2175 for 6th-8th grade It is best to select this plan if your child will use a minimum of five hours a week for the entire school year. Total billing will be based on usage. Hourly charges will be billed in half-hour increments.

ASE CLASSES

The After School Enrichment Class Schedule will be available in late September. ASE Classes are a part of the ASE program. Your child does not need to sign up for ASE camp to participate in the amazing and fun classes. ASE classes have a separate fee from the camp portion of the program and give your child an opportunity to get involved in some really exciting activities after the school day is over, and it all happens right here on campus!

Enrichment classes have a separate fee from the camp portion of the ASE program and include theater, choir, clay, game design, and world building...just to name just a few! Students do not need to be registered for ASE camp to enroll in enrichment classes.

Billing: ASE fees will appear on your monthly statement through Tuition Management.

Charges: Students attending ASE Classes will be signed into ASE Camp before their classes begin but will not be charged for this time at camp. Students not picked up at dismissal of their ASE class will be checked back into ASE Camp. There is a 10-minute grace period before camp charges begin. Due to the different start times of private music lessons, students are charged for their time in ASE Camp before their lesson begins.

Changes/Cancellations: We ask that you please make your selections carefully. All changes must be made in writing, preferably by email to jpangilinan@saccds.org. Changes will be made on a space-available basis. We reserve the right to cancel a class for any reason.

Registration & Enrollment: Classes have limited enrollment; early enrollment is recommended.

Classes are filled on a “first-come, first-served” basis. If a class you have signed up for is full, contact Joy and you will be placed on a waiting list. In the event that a class cannot meet its enrollment, the class will be cancelled. The ASE program operates on a trimester basis and students are enrolled for the entire year; changes in your child’s ASE schedule take place at the end of a trimester.

Refunds: A refund will be issued only when a class is cancelled or when withdrawls take place before the trimester is underway. The ASE Program’s hiring and purchasing are directly determined by enrollment. Therefore, we regret that there are no exceptions to this policy.

ASE PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS ASE private music lessons offer one-on-one teaching sessions from distinguished musicians and teachers. All phases of playing are developed pedagogically.

Proper posture and breathing, embouchure and tone development, musical notation, time and key signatures, intervals, and scales are all covered in private lessons.

First priority on schedules is given to returning students, then private lessons are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need to cancel a private music lesson, please notify Joy 24 hours in advance to waive the lesson fee.

Lessons are 1/2 an hour long once a week for a $42 fee. To sign up, please contact Joy Pangilinan. Due to the different start times of private music lessons, students are charged for their time in ASE Camp before their lesson begins.

PLEASE NOTE Private Music Lessons begin in First Grade. During teacher workdays and lower school conferences, ASE private music lessons are cancelled for Lower School and Middle School students.
