‘wrap’ is a group exhibition by six artists, through the visual art, graphic design and illustration, they portray now current and movement. The artists have invented method and attractive characters to express their perspectives by the use of unique language and a wide variety of characters. Therefore, these works are not only used for a commercial purpose but also lighten up and reflect the idea within the contemporariness sensation. In essence, the artworks is a social observation and an expression of understanding with an attitude. Detailing with the beauty, which is making it unique and able to relate with many other fields. In addition to beauty, these works is also a method of studying and understanding various aspects of the world—ranging from global politics, living things, to the relationship of young people. In this era, the existence of the subcultures creating different tastes and diversity in the arts community. In addition to creating attractive narratives, ‘wrap’ also desires to open up the conceptual space of art. The analysis of textures, planes, and internal forms aims to achieve the interaction between objects and space as well as the portrayal of concealing, wrapping, and covering concepts. This is not to obscure or hide, but to discover the physical “texture” and what lies beneath its shape or planes. Each artist uses his/her “method” to show interest and to independently connect what is inside and outside. In the competition to present an incredible character, many characters have been invented in the world of illustration. Pomme Chan gives the meaning of home—a living space that encapsulates relationships and life—by showing the activities inside the house. TUNA Dunn shows stories of daily life, relationships, and love that are simple but special and delicate. Brightside expresses the chaos of societies and politics through the characters. The “collage” by Double O Seth is created as a result of research and the collection of old illustrations which are then put together into a new story filled with history and contemporary events. Phannapast Taychamaythakool shows the integration of Eastern and Western paintings that are full of the charm of coloured lines together with diverse characters and 2CHOEY recreates well-known characters from our childhood memory by redesigning new faces into a unique sign language. Therefore, ‘wrap’ is an exhibition that is keen to explore the fundamental anatomy of spaces and objects, consisting of visible and tangible shapes and textures as well as different types of characters. No matter where these visual languages appear—on visible objects or planes—all the relationships in this world will be interpreted by the artists. At the right time, the characters will be alive and become a part of our lives. Now ... That’s a wrap!!!

Planning. Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University He had worked as an art director in the advertising industry before he became a street art creator. He creates works of vibrant pop art inspired by pop culture. He has designed a character called “Fingies”, a naughty hand, which later becomes his signature. 2CHOEY has been influenced by his experience living and working in Melbourne, Australia. His work rapidly caught the eye of pop and street artists in Melbourne, and he also participated in both group and solo exhibitions in Melbourne. 2CHOEY illustrates the issues in society using his own specific language and his signature character. His works deliver a sharp, but simple, point of view that can still effectively communicate with the target audience, making it favored by both Thai and foreign art lovers. The work in this series, The artist tells the story of encapsulating or revealing oneself with words and languages. Messages or sentences are considered a central tool used for self-explanation and identity expression. Since we regularly explain ourselves to others through our words, these words are, therefore, read as objects resembling clothes wrapping or revealing our identities.

Media and Technology, Chiang Mai University. Brightside is a graphic designer and a cartoonist based on Chiang Mai, started working in the art field in 2014. He is interested in pop culture and information updated in society. Brightside has ongoing group and solo exhibitions. His work focuses on designing characters that represent stories of contemporary social movements. He also inserts humour and sarcasm, criticizing social and political situations in the country. Brightside’s works can be seen in social media and from artwork drawn by hand which illustrates current events of the country. This work is a record of events that happened during the past years. It is about wars, battles, and the normal life of people in a lively, fantasy land. However, it also contains a paradox. The works in this series are divided into three pieces. The first piece represents chaos, the confrontation of normal people, and the invading men in suits. There are fights, relaxation, and normal lives of people. The second work, in front of the mountain background, portrays the gathering of people using naturally-created weapons to fight and withstand the power of intruders. Lastly, the third piece of this series presents a group of suited fanatics with full weapons. These people try to invade the peaceful land.

every memory since my childhood till this day shaped up who I am nowadays. These precious memories were cherished and well preserved within the area we intentionally address it as ‘home’. Through various activities, on the dining table, in the living room, up to a large carpet which brings everybody back together over and over again until it becomes a precious family moment. This ‘home’ became my first school for me; it’s taught me what love and family is, the unbreakable bond and the endless sacrifice we make for each other. That quality of time seems to be a precious memory to this day.

University. He started working for an advertising and graphic design agency, and then he pursued a master’s degree in Print Design at Central St. Martins in the field of Communication Arts and studied illustration at Chelsea College of Art & Design. After that, he returned to Thailand to work as a lecturer at Rangsit University and as a freelance graphic designer. He became an editor of Katch magazine. Since 2001, he has worked on collages and has mainly worked with many Thai and foreign magazines such as Mono, Arena, and FHM. A collection of his solo works was released in 2005 and selected by Dazed & Confused Japan magazine as one of the 80 best artist’s inspiring books. Moreover, he was also selected as one of the Thai artists in the Asian Creative book in 2013. Double O Seth has performed solo works and group works many times both in Thailand and abroad. At present, Double O Seth is working on graphic design, designing clothes with the brand La La Love and always working on collages. His collage works are based on the subconscious mind combined with his personal feelings and what is happening around him. He studies history from archives and collects images that he is interested in, including those related to pop culture, especially people and objects. The integration of all images, eventually, turns into a surreal image. Even though Double O Seth's illustration works consist of old pictures from various publications, his works can still be described as weird, sexy and pop. These images do not tell a straightforward story, but rather allow the collage to work with the viewer's imagination.

Phannapast Taychamaythakool (Yoon) is a Thai artist/ illustrator who tells her personal stories through her drawings of animal characters and flowers. Phannapast graduated from Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand with a Fashion Design degree. After she graduated, she worked with Thai fashion brands, while at the same time, continuing her love for drawing and handcrafts. After following her dream as an artist, her works were discovered by Alessandro Michele, the creative director of Gucci. Phannapast then started to collaborate with Gucci for many projects including; GucciTian, The Fairy Tale book for Le Marché de Merveilles collection, Bloom Acqua di Fiori, DIY sneakers and Gucci Art Wall in SoHo, New York Phannapast’s works always tell the stories of her personal life. She uses different personalities of animals to represent her feelings at the time. Her animal characters are always doing something and telling some stories from their world. Phannapast often gets her inspiration from her surroundings. This includes her upbringing in a Thai-Chinese family, in which she always passes on the love of her culture into the work. In the work ‘I wrapped myself up with all the flowers to hide from you forever’ depicts a fantasy world where different kinds of animals are wrapped up and surrounded by nature and varieties of plants, covered up and hidden them from the sight.
