Replenishing historical density diminished by the housing crisis in south detroit, this deployable kit-of-parts addresses what it means to live together at urbanism scales and domestic scales.
This proposal mediates three different housing typologies at various intersections of dweller duration, ownership structures, and unit density. Modular unit assemblies embed into urban infrastructure, proposing a community that integrates surrounding neighborhoods, provides essential services and opportunities, and activates existing alleyways into avenues of community-led growth.

SYSTEMS SCALE SHIFTS
Collective living happens at all scales: within a dwelling unit, between balconies, and amongst circulation corridors. From the construction wall section to the expansive floor plan, considerations of the integrated systems amount to a dwelling block with a clear position and narrative.

lobbyrenovation
Renovation plans for a brutalist office building with a statement stair and a lobby cafe. SD and DD sets developed in Revit: demo plans, finish plans, millwork details, and space plans were developed for both interior and exterior building.

CONCEPT TRANSLATION
A concept package was translated into SD and DD through consultant coordination, code compliance, and detail drawings, all mitigated with existing building conditions.
fivepavilions
How do we negotiate spaces of diplomacy when the participating countries have frought relationships and histories? Five supporting pavilions to the chinese embassy in Washington give public space to historically marginalized ethnic groups, celebrating the diversity within the People’s Republic of China and expanding Americans’ understanding of the Chinese population.
Where the ground ends and where the pavilions begin is blurred, with a series of sectional studies responding to the topography and nestle the project into an existing park. Water features, ramping paths, and surrounding vegetation support the five pavilions of differing programs and representations.

FORMAL INQUIRIES
Taking inspiration from cultural iconography and vernacular architecture, a series of formal language studies were explored with cultural representation, part-to-whole relationships, and concise geometric language in mind.

F24 interactiveexhibits
A ground-up children’s museum reimagines beloved exhibitions and creates new ones while designing floors of exploration for all ages.
Exhibition design and presentation support on a freelance basis provided batches of SD sheets and SD exhibtion design from concept materials.

GEOMETRIC PROCESS
Contour lines were drafted in Rhino to create the dynamic flow geometry outlined as per the concept sketches, and then those asymmetric, unique “ribs” were extruded individually to create the tunnel for the train ride to go through in the exhibit.

siteplanning
A diverse range of services make up this proposal package, including muli-family housing unit allocations, large-sale zoning analysis and site planning, and landscape design.
Shifting scales from unit floor plans to zoning setbacks creates a holistic representation of the proposed develoment, in collaboration with key stakeholders and consultants.

S20
publicrestroom
A multinational collaboration design-build project that serves within recent governmental initiatives to revitalize the neglected rural villages of China, where sites prove to be a distinct opportunity for cooperative intervention within a non-western sphere of influence.
The design proposal and subsequent construction aim to engage intentional aesthetics and agendas while utilizing the limited and specific site, materials, and infrastructure available. traditional roof construction is paired with a duo of masses to encourage utility and rest for users.

UNIFIED DUALITY
Intersecting formal and linear geometries work in perpindicular and parallel to create the parti diagram, which opens the eye to views of the surrounding landscape. the resulting elevation relies heavily on the articulation of material and the subsequent apertures.
