OPENING LETTER There wasn’t much of a reason why I decided to do this again. Maybe I was inspired by looking at the first one again. Maybe it was just an idea I had. Or, maybe it was the fact that I wanted to share my experience with turning back to God. Your choice, I guess. So, when you read this, know that it’s meant to be more than the words. Read between the lines, my friends. -Sabrina Laramee

I FOUND GOD by Sabrina Laramee

I thought I was an atheist. It didn’t get me far. When I was younger, I believed in God. I’m not saying I don’t now, but stick with me here. As a kid, I loved learning about the Catholic faith and all the unique history behind it. I enjoyed learning the prayers and doing the rosary. I didn’t necessarily live by a Bible, but I did love the faith itself. Somewhere along the way, maybe during my high school years, I started to lose my faith. I stopped believing in God because “nothing I prayed for was happening”. I swore off faith and thought I was an atheist for a while. Then, I started leaning towards Buddhism and being agnostic. Listen, I don’t know where I thought I was going with any of that. Clearly, it didn’t get me far. What I didn’t know is that God takes his time. Actually, there’s a lot I didn’t know. But that stretches farther than faith. It took a lot for me to turn back to God. It really did. During the beginning of

2020, I paid more attention when the whole COVID thing hit. Then I had some spare time and, well, down the rabbit hole I went. I read a lot of information, watched a lot of videos, and saw a lot of things. Needless to say, my eyes were wide open after that. I opened a Bible for the first time (in a long time) when my grandma had told me about an Advent challenge her priest told her about. It was to read the book of Luke, one chapter a day from December 1st to December 24th (Christmas Eve). I discovered a lot when I read Luke, and I started making more connections to things that have happened. There’s a lot to be found in that book. There’s a lot to learn from the Bible. I won’t tell you where to start, or how to read it. I’m still trying to figure that out. I’m still making my way back. There’s a lot of recovery to be done.
